The BBC must release a large number of emails relating to Martin Bashir’s infamous 1995 interview with Princess Diana.
A report in Sky News said the emails in question are from a period in 2020 when the broadcaster was battling the scandal around the interview.
They were initially requested via a Freedom of Information (Foi) request submitted by Andrew Webb, a journalist and filmmaker.
The BBC has been “inconsistent, erroneous, and unreliable” said Judge Brian Kennedy in ordering the email release.
A BBC spokesperson said it “fully accepted” that “mistakes have been made in this case in the past. We are currently considering the tribunal’s decision carefully and it would not be appropriate to comment whilst the legal proceedings are ongoing.”
Webb said that the BBC failed to release more than 3,000 emails related to its handling of the scandal in 2020.

During 2020, the first year of the pandemic, spending on outdoor advertising slumped big-time when folks were home and spending far less time in their cars.
But in 2022, according to Insider Intelligence, spending on out-of-home advertising rebounded to an estimated $7.93 billion in the U.S., up from $6.08 billion in 2020 (though still not back to the $8.65 billion spent in 2019). Car-centric Los Angeles — where significant FYC campaigning takes over billboards across the city — factored into that recovery, says Philip Berardi, president and CEO of Regency Outdoor Advertising.
According to Berardi, “2020 saw revenues decline by approximately half, and this revenue decline persisted until approximately the end of Q2 2021, after which the market for FYC and entertainment ads took off like a rocket.” He adds that “2022 was a great year with strong revenues across all areas.” Among the top outdoor advertisers in the U.S. last year, according to the Outdoor Advertising Association of America,...

Netflix is seeking to acquire L.A.-based billboard company Regency Outdoor Advertising with an offer of more than $300 million, Reuters reported.
Netflix is not the only bidder for Regency Outdoor and the acquisition talks may fall through, according to the Reuters report, which cited anonymous sources.
A Netflix rep said in an email, “We don’t comment on rumors or speculation.” Regency Outdoor did not respond to requests for comment.
Among the billboard campaigns the streaming company has staged were plain white signs with black text that said “Netflix Is a Joke” that popped up last September on billboards from Regency and other outdoor advertisers. Two weeks later, it revealed the cryptic ads were promoting Netflix’s lineup of stand-up comedy specials from comics including Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Dave Chappelle, and Ellen DeGeneres.
