- Margaret Odette is quickly establishing herself as a talented and poised actress on the rise, showcasing a range of skills with each new role.
A native New Yorker with Haitian and African-American roots, Margaret spent her youth shuttling between Harlem, NYC and Cincinnati, OH. While she began as a musician, playing the violin in Juilliard's youth orchestra, she eventually discovered acting with her middle-school's production of "Barefoot in the Park," and never turned back.
Margaret starred in the Netflix series "Sex/Life" alongside Sarah Shahi, Mike Vogel, and Adam Demos. Within the first month of the show's 2021 debut, "Sex/Life" was viewed by 67 million households worldwide, making it the third most-watched Netflix original series of all time.
In 2015, Margaret made her feature film debut in "Sleeping with Other People" starring Jason Sudeikis and Alison Brie, directed by Leslye Headland. The film premiered at Sundance, as well as at The Tribeca Film Festival, where it won 2nd Place Audience Award Narrative.
Among many stage credits, Margaret starred in the World Premiere of "Revenge Song" at The Geffen Playhouse in LA, as well as a hugely successful run of The Public Theater's "Much Ado About Nothing," directed by Kenny Leon for Shakespeare in the Park. She's worked with a litany of notable stage directors, including Julie Taymor, Jonathan Lynn, Stevie Walker-Webb, Whitney White, Lisa Peterson, Awoye Timpo, and Daniel Talbott.
A graduate of Brown University and NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Margaret also trained at the British American Drama Academy (BADA) in Oxford, England.
