After garnering 10 million (and counting!) hits on the Telugu teaser for the upcoming Nikhil Siddhartha action thriller titled ‘Spy’, the makers have dropped the Hindi version.
The ‘Spy’ team released the Telugu teaser at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s statue at India Gate in New Delhi on Monday. The film is an espionage thriller based on the story of the mysterious disappearance of nationalist leader.
Helmed by Garry Bh, who makes his directorial debut with ‘Spy’, the film also has Makrand Despande, Iswarya Menon, Sanya Thakur and Abhinav Gomatam in principal roles.
Keiko Nakahara and Julian Amaru Estrada, both cinematographers who previously worked on Ajay Devgn’s blockbuster film ‘Tanhaji’ and for multiple Hollywood projects respectively, are a part of the movie’s production team.
‘Spy’ is scheduled to be released in all southern languages and also in Hindi on June 29.

Chile’s foremost industry forum Sanfic Industria wrapped Friday Aug. 19 with a wealth of prizes doled out to projects from across Latin America and Spain.
Still reeling from the pandemic, the forum’s 11th year saw another hybrid edition but a definite upsurge in attendance. The various sections included Wip Ibero-American, Santiago Lab: Fiction and Documentary, Sanfic-Mórbido Lab, Sanfic Series and the new space created for female producers, Productoras Lab.
Most telling, a number of projects from small countries and by women directors as well as upcoming new talent triumphed at the forum this year.
Bolivian drama “Diamond,” the feature debut of Yashira Jordan that follows an Indigenous trap-singing teen as she searches for her estranged father, took home the most prizes in the Santiago Lab Fiction section, with three honors, including the Bdc Co-Production award.
Guatemala’s “Kicks of Soil” by Indigenous filmmaker Leyzer Chiquin and Chilean Constanza Figari’s second feature,...

Spain’s Solita Films, the Madrid-based outfit of director-producer brothers José Esteban and César Esteban Alenda, has boarded “Her Ocean,” (“El Mar la Mar”), an addition to the growing canon of LGBTQ dramas now in Latin America.
Written and directed by Julián Amaru Estrada and produced by María Paz Barragán at Lima-based Final Abierto, “Her Ocean” is one of the most memorable titles among seven works at this week’s Sanfic Industria Productoras Lab, a novel pitching program and training facility for emerging, first or second-feature women producers in Latin America.
“Her Ocean” is also selected for this year’s LabGuion in Colombia and Sapcine in Cali.
Now co-developed by Solita Films, the feature project is a LGBTQ coming-of-age drama which builds to a magic realist climax. It turns on Ray, 15, gay, who helps local fishermen in his small town on the coast of Perú until, drunk at a bonfire party on the beach,...

Argentina’s “Fan,” Colombia’s “Gloria and the Dragon” and Peru’s “Laureano” figure among seven titles at Sanfic Industria’s Productoras Lab, a novel pitching program and training facility for emerging, first or second-feature women producers in Latin America. All three titles carry good word of mouth.
The producers will attend tutorials on how to think from early development about film finance, distribution and boosting the international reach of their productions.
“We received a lot of highly distinctive projects from all over Latin America. It was complex to select just seven producers through their projects which take in both fiction features and documentaries,” Gabriela Sandoval, Sanfic Industria director, told Variety.
Below, the final cut, and some details about the projects and their female producers, where known:
“Fan,” (Mariela di Naro, Argentina)
Director-producer di Naro’s first feature, a doc portrait of Euge Cabral (48), a die-hard fan of singer Luis Miguel...

Hey everyone! As I mentioned the other day, I’ve been playing catch-up on a handful of indie horror reviews recently, and today, I’m back with two more reviews—The Djinn from directors David Charbonier and Justin Powell and the hilarious mockumentary 15 Things You Didn’t Know About Bigfoot (#1 Will Blow Your Mind!) by Zach Lamplugh, which are both currently streaming everywhere.
The Djinn: As someone who very much enjoyed their efforts on The Boy Behind the Door (which played at Fantastic Fest last September), I was excited to see what the filmmaking duo of Justin Powell and David Charbonier was going to do for their disturbing modern fairytale, The Djinn, and they did not disappoint. What they have managed to create doesn’t quite hit the same storytelling highs as The Boy Behind the Door, but I love how they manage to make the most of their...

"We start thinking about the things we're missing... and forget about the things we have." Holy hell this looks freaky! IFC Films has released an official trailer for the indie horror The Djinn, finally being released in May this year in both theaters + on VOD at the same time. A mute boy is trapped in his apartment with a sinister monster when he makes a wish to fulfill his heart's greatest desire. That is a simple setup, but this looks insanely creepy overall. This stars Ezra Dewey as Dylan, along with Rob Brownstein, Tevy Poe, Donald Pitts, and John Erickson. The apartment cinematography in this (by Dp Julián Estrada) is what makes it effectively scary. This really seems like it could end up a sleeper hit just because it's so disturbing. Here's the first official trailer for David Charbonier & Justin Powell's The Djinn, from IFC's YouTube: A...
