“Sunday Burquest had one of the brightest smiles of any person to ever play ‘Survivor,'” tweeted Jeff Probst following the recent death of the fan-fave castaway from “Millennials vs. Gen X.” Sunday, age 50, passed away on April 18 after a year-long battle with esophageal and ovarian cancer. The “Survivor” host continued, “She radiated kindness and understanding. She seemed to understand better than most, that life is for living, so say yes to life whenever possible. My condolences go out to her family and friends.”

Rudy Boesch, a retired United States Navy Seal who competed in two seasons of CBS’ Survivor, has died at age 91 due to complications from Alzheimer’s Disease, People reports.
Boesch was 72 years old when he began his Survivor career on the reality competition series’ very first season (aka Survivor: Borneo) in 2000. Despite being significantly older than his fellow competitors, Boesch proved that age isn’t everything, ultimately finishing in third place behind Kelly Wiglesworth and Richard Hatch.

Wednesday’s season premiere of “Survivor: Island of the Idols” was one of the show’s strongest, certainly of the last 10 seasons, but quite possibly among the best in its 19-year history. We are so high on the premiere that it’s giving us hope that producers have course-corrected some of the poor editing and meandering storylines that plagued the last few seasons. Four seasons ago Ben Driebergen‘s eventual win was blatantly obvious from the jump due to his heroic editing and just last season the “Edge of Extinction” twist corrupted the tail end of a season where the story was forced to focus on endgame players that would eventually lose to Chris Underwood, a player who was in the game proper for only 13 of 39 days,

“Survivor: Island of the Idols” gave us our first glimpse at the eponymous twist of the season, with former winners Rob Mariano and Sandra Diaz-Twine offering game tips to one of the 20 new castaways. In the Season 39 premiere, Olympic swimmer Elizabeth Beisel was the lucky/unlucky first contestant exiled to the Island of the Idols where she sought advice from the past “Survivor” champs. Now that we’ve seen how it plays out, is “Island of the Idols” an exciting new twist or, like those giant Rob and Sandra statues, a bust? Vote in our poll below.

No one ever wants to be the first person voted out of “Survivor,” but each season premiere one unlucky castaway must have their torch snuffed by host Jeff Probst. For Season 39, aka “Survivor: Island of the Idols,” that person was Ronnie Bardah, a 35-year-old poker player from Henderson, Nevada. Ronnie went into tribal council convinced one of the weaker contestants like Vince Moua or Elaine Stott would be voted out first, but he just happened to be on the wrong side of the numbers. “I was blindsided pretty hard,” Ronnie said in his exit interview at the end of Wednesday’s season premiere.

“Survivor” is one of the most dangerous competitions on television, as evidenced by the large number of castaways who’ve been injured over the past two decades. Thankfully, nobody has ever died while filming CBS’s reality TV show. However, four castaways have passed away in the years since leaving the island. In our “Survivor” deaths photo gallery above, we take a moment to remember all of those we’ve lost. May their torches live on forever in our hearts.

The cast for Survivor: Game Changers is a bit confusing. While the collection of returning players should make for an entertaining season, since second-time castaways always play the game harder than their first go-around, the subtitle of Game Changers is a misnomer. While there are a few standouts and some rather remarkable contestants from Survivor history, very few of them have "changed" the game. There are even a handful (like Tai, Caleb and Brad Culpepper) who have no business being in an All-Stars-esque season.
There are several players who fall somewhere between the huge threat level of contestants like two-time winner Sandra and bizarre non-entities like Debbie. These players are the really dangerous ones. In no particular order, here are five of the most promising, and for their fellow castaways most threatening, returning players in Survivor: Game Changers.

Over the years, Survivor has had its share of medical evacuations. Sometimes, it was the contestant's own fault, like when Mike Skupin fell into a fire during 2001's Australian Outback. Sometimes, it was due to illness, like when Panama's Bruce Kanegai found himself severely constipated. Other times, the blame falls on the producers. In 2012, contestant Kourtney Moon broke her wrist during an ill-conceived challenge that had contestants jumping from a 25-ft. tower into a net. But no Survivor has been quite as brutal and chaotic as last week's episode, where contestants spent nearly an hour digging in hot sand for bags of balls.

Everything went wrong last night on "Survivor: Kaoh Rong."
Even host Jeff Probst said he was "the most frightened I've been in all my time on 'Survivor,'" and this is Season 32. Three people collapsed. One was evacuated. And the episode ended with an infuriating round of bullying, hypocrisy, and the elimination of the most likable person on the Brawn tribe.
The drama started right away at the Reward Challenge. Everyone has talked about the particularly difficult conditions this season, and the heat took its toll when the players had to dig in the hot sun, with no hydration or protection. Debbie Wanner of the Brains tribe was the first to drop. Probst checked on her, and made sure she was fine. Then Cydney Gillon of the Brawn tribe and Caleb Reynolds of the Beauty tribe (and also "Big Brother 16") both dropped, and it was clear they were really in trouble.

It's really the humidity that kills you. The Fishy Award goes to Dr. Joe. He stayed calm, cool, and collective while the entire cast twitched and foamed at the mouth like they were extras on The Walking Dead. First Debbie went loopy, then Caleb collapsed and Cydney broke down. Dr. Joe had ice packs, water bottles, and battlefield wisdom for them all. (Though for some reason,...

Survivor: Kaoh Rong's ninth day started like any other one: With a ridiculous challenge that forced the castaways of season 32 to play a silly carnival on the beach in the middle of nowhere. But things got crazy Very quickly when the challenge turned out to produce one of the most genuinely terrifying moments of the show, ever. Things were very, very hot on that Cambodia beach, and Debbie (of the Brains tribe) succumbed to heatstroke. She knew what was happening to her body and managed to keep a smile on her face while the medics successfully cooled her down—but her fellow castaway Caleb wasn't so lucky. Soon after Debbie's recovery, the Beauty tribe's Caleb collapsed. The medics attempted the...

This post contains spoilers for Sunday’s fall finale of Quantico.
After weeks of Quantico‘s mystery and misdirection, we can happily report that at least one pressing question is resolved this week: Agent Vasquez’s first name is spelled Natalie (as some of you suggested), not Nathalie (the way TVLine has been spelling it).
We’d been writing her name that way because that’s how it was in all the press materials when the show started, but then the show made a change and… oh wait, that‘s not the giant revelation from the fall finale you want to hear about?...

Pre-credit sequence. Coyopa returns to camp sans Val. Baylor has begun to realize that she isn't as safe as she thought she was. You have thought Baylor might have realized that earlier, but Baylor's not so good at following the flow of the game. She's still open to playing with anybody, but she isn't going to trust anybody. John Rocker figures that by giving Val insider information, he did everything he could. Josh, by the way, admits that he was the person who flipped his vote in the first round. Josh suspects Val and John Rocker of having colluded -- which they did -- though he isn't ready to bail on the All-Guy Alliance, putting Jaclyn and then Baylor in jeopardy. Drew Roker or Drew Van Winkle. Over at Hunahpu, their shelter doesn't have a real roof, which concerns Drew, who warns his colleagues about the potential for a tropical storm.

Derrick Levasseur has masterfully controlled this season of "Big Brother." When it ends tonight, following the premiere of "Survivor San Juan Del Sur," Derrick will most likely be the winner. He should compete on "Survivor" next. As one of the quieter members of the best Big Brother cast in years, Derrick stood out not for having an over-the-top personality, but for his impeccable game. Socially and strategically, he dominated. First, yes, there's a small chance something could get in his way of winning: a bitter jury could vote for his opponent, or he could lose the final Hoh competition. ("Big Brother" traditionally and stupidly uses a final Hoh competition that's essentially random--the players have to guess answers to questions the jury members were asked--so it's basically equivalent to a dice roll.) Still, even with the slim chance that he loses that competition, Derrick has created such strong relationships that he'll...

Well, here we are again, Big Brother fans.
Just two weeks ago, Donny and Nicole were sitting next to each other on the block, ensuring that one of this season’s sweet-as-pie contestants would be evicted. This time around, the set-up was exactly the same — only the results were different.
But before we get into Donny’s inevitable exit, let’s revisit this rather predictable week in the Bb house:

Apologies for this late recap of Thursday (July 17) night's "Big Brother." Television Critics Association press tour is causing all sorts of time crunching. Where were we? Oh right! Donny upset the field and won the PoV and then used it to protect Jocasta, whose most important piece of gameplay all season has been getting violently ill when she was on the Block and letting Donny rescue her. Let's get down to business! 9:02 p.m. Why is the camera shaking? Stop shaking the camera. 9:02 p.m. The episode begins in the aftermath of Donny's heroic liberation of Jocasta from the Block. Caleb knows that if something bad happens, his decision to put himself on the Block could be one of the dumbest in "Big Brother" history. After several weeks in virtual anonymity, Jocasta is a bit nutty with tearful gratitude. 9:03 p.m. Speaking of nutty, Caleb is in...
