After almost a decade Sandra Lee is back on our TV screens for one of her own shows in Dinner Budget Showdown. The queen of Semi-Homemade Cooking joins her co-host and fellow lead judge Jordan Andino as they challenge home cooks to create five-star dishes on a two-star budget. During each of the six episodes of the season, they’ll welcome an all-star state of guests who’ll show their culinary mastery by serving up a plate without having to worry about the cost. Then it’s up to the competitors to use what they see as inspiration for their own, only by picking ingredients from the grocery store keeping budget in mind. The streaming service’s lineup of food (and drink) oriented programming also includes Drink Masters, The Great British Baking Show: Holidays season five, Snack Vs. Chef, and Cook at All Costs.
The Great British Baking Show Collection 10 is also a part of Netflix’s fall lineup, however, the premiere date hasn’t been announced.

Looks can be deceiving and cooks can be deceived in the new competition, Raid the Fridge, that dares contestants to create cuisine from whatever food is stocked inside a refrigerator of their choice. The catch, host Dan Ahdoot says, is the chefs choose their fridge based solely on the photos and magnets on the door. For every obvious option — “if there’s a lobster magnet, there’s probably lobster inside,” the food writer and comic offers — there’s a craftier possibility to consider. “What about a picture of the Statue of Liberty? Does that mean pizza? Cheesecake?” Episodes put four chefs through three themed elimination rounds, with the winner walking off with $10K. Food Network is cooking up a new special.
The network will team up with People magazine to produce an hour-long program about the creation of a new entry for the magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” issue: “Sexiest Chef.” The special, titled “Sexiest Chef Alive,” will premiere on Food Network Nov. 1 at 8pm Et/Pt.
“We are thrilled to work with People on this new collaboration, which celebrates chefs and the exciting world of food,” said Allison Page, president of Food Network and Hgtv. “Viewers will get an up close and personal glimpse at each of the extraordinarily talented chefs, along with their personal stories and culinary styles, culminating with the reveal of this year’s ‘Sexiest Chef.’”
