Carlos Garcia Servin
- Actor
A Chicago based actor, Carlos was born in L.A. California and raised in
Guanajuato, Mexico. Carlos became interested in the arts from a very
young age participating in every school festival. During the spring of
2000 at the age of 10, his parents made the decision of moving to the
USA in search of a better future. After a couple months in California,
the family moved to Chicago. By sophomore year in high school, Carlos
started regular English classes. The language barrier was a big one, he
used to be really quiet and shy because it was one thing to write the
language but it was a completely different world to speak it. That same
year he was introduced to the school's theater program and auditioned
for "Montage 06", a series of one-act plays directed by senior
students. After being so nervous during the audition, he had no idea
how he got casted. After montage, Carlos registered for every acting
class that he could in high school. The theater was the place to be,
"the air was warm and sweet", and theater was everything to him at the
time. After graduation came along, he auditioned for Aguijon Theater
and got casted on his first leading role on a professional stage play.
Carlos then had the chance to attend to TASL and finished a couple
years of Meisner Studies under the guidance of one of one Mexico's most
renowned actors "Sebastian Ligarde." Carlos just fished taking classes
at SAH, (Sociedad Actoral Hispanoamericana or the Hispanic Actor
Society in the U.S.) with Miguel Sahid; Univision's acting coach.
Carlos started taking voice lessons with one of Chicago's most talented
voice instructors as well. In addition, he has been working on several
stage productions both in English and Spanish as well as student films
and commercials. Carlos feels lucky he was born in this country and at
the same time proud of his Mexican roots.
