We're annoyed with The X Factor. No, not because of Mason Noise, or because Sinitta wasn't at Judges' Houses, or because of Simon Cowell's eye-wateringly high waistline. Nope, we're annoyed with The X Factor because we're not getting Halloween Week this year.
There's nothing scarier than a hopeful singer nervously belting out a classic while dressed in lycra and cobwebs, but we're going to be denied this pleasure as the contestants instead face the "this is me" theme for the first live show on Saturday. But that doesn't stop us from carving a pumpkin, popping on a witch's hat and reliving these best ever Halloween Week performances:
1. 'E.T.' - Little Mix (2011)

Ever get a feeling of déjà vu while you're watching The X Factor? That's because after 11 series and hundreds of contestants, the live shows have seen a whopping 728 tracks performed so far. But like a wedding DJ reaching for his failsafe party anthems CD, the top five most popular songs have been dusted off and rolled out over 33 times between them.
Our geeky rules state that we're counting all live show performances and group songs, but not repeat performances from the same act in the same series.
=5. 'Feeling Good': 6 performances
Performed by: Beverley Trotman, Rachel Hylton, Stacey Solomon, James Arthur, Rebecca Ferguson, Andrea Faustini
Made famous by Nina Simone, this classic usually pops up in the traditional 'Big Band Week', and is a good excuse for an act to show off their sultry side. Stacey had a go with Michael Bublé in 2009, while Andrea tried out a more powerhouse version last year.

And so it's over. Ben Haenow has been crowned the winner of The X Factor after months of auditions and more auditions and Boot Camp and Judges' Houses and live shows. Now what?
Well, we're not quite ready to say goodbye just yet, so we've collected some of our favourite moments of the series. We're not talking performances as such - we're talking all the silly sideshow bits and bobs that have made this series. Are any as good as Jedward doing their own backing vocals or Rachel Adedeji falling over? We'll leave that up to you to decide.
So without further ado, here they are, in no particular order...
1. Only The Young shouty man
We're not quite sure when we started noticing Only The Young shouty man, but that's just because it feels like he's always been there. The over-exuberant supporter has invaded our consciousness to such an extent...

Eight-piece boybands, middle-aged men dressed as Egyptians getting honey rubbed on their chests, Louis Walsh being... Louis Walsh. Yes, this series of X Factor might not have been the most thrilling, but even in a non-vintage year, there has been plenty to laugh at and enjoy.
This evening's final features Fleur East, Ben Haenow and Andrea Faustini battling for the prize of a record contract and the chance to hit the charts in time for Christmas. All the betting and polls seem to suggest that it's a one-horse race with Fleur running away with it, but The X Factor has thrown up surprises in the past, so nothing can be ruled out.

We can't quite believe the X Factor final is this weekend - we're not sure we're ready to say goodbye to Simon Cowell yet - but before we get to crowning a winner, there is some very important business to attend to. Like, say, who Andrea, Ben and Fleur will be duetting with. And what their winner's singles will be. We need to know.
Well, we'll probably find out very soon but until then we'd like to wildly speculate. So below, we lay out our choices for the top three - both the silly and the serious.
Andrea Faustini
Dream Duet
Silly: Spice Girls. Just imagine. We know Andrea is a huge fan, and we also really want to see Mel B and Geri get on the same stage again. Frankly if Andrea's not belting out the chorus to 'Viva Forever' on Saturday night he doesn't deserve to win.

We're down to our final three on The X Factor - Andrea, Ben, and Fleur, in case you've somehow missed the news - and the final is just days away. Days. But of course the one thing we all want to know is what the winner's single will be - is it going to be a surprise triumph or a horrific failure?
All this speculation got us looking back at the X Factor winner's singles of the past - the good, the bad, the terrible. And, of course, we just had to rank them, didn't we? Read on for our view of how they all stack up...
10. 'Hallelujah' - Alexandra Burke
One thing we discovered when we began this ranking is that the quality of the winner's single is no reflection of the quality of the artist. Take this monstrosity. Alexandra is obviously hugely talented and could have had an amazing first record.

The X Factor judges have spoken about Stevi Ritchie.
Speaking on the Xtra Factor about Ritchie, Simon Cowell said: "I miss my 'lil buddy. He was great fun."
The contestant left the show after a sing-off against Andrea Faustini.
Cowell did, however, admit that Stevi "was never going to win", before saying that now it has come "down to the more serious side of the competition."
Mel B admitted she was 'in shock' that Andrea was in the bottom two, before adding: "I genuinely like Stevi."
Simon later agreed that the best singer had stayed in the competition.

It's Friday, just before lunchtime, and we've snooped our way into the X Factor studios - where the contestants are on stage hearing a big announcement from a booming Simon Cowell video (we're not allowed to tell you what it is, but all will be revealed tonight). But before we know it, it's time for Paul Akister's sound check, and we're being very politely ushered out into the canteen.
Why? Because Mel B doesn't allow anyone to see her acts rehearsing. "She closes the set off so no contestants are allowed in," Paul tells us later. "I think it's so people can't see the competition. It's a good tactic." (Incidentally, he's "really nervous" about his performance this week, because he's going to be moving around a lot: "I'm just used to standing there and singing so this is totally different for me.")
And the acts are going to need...

First it was boyband vs girlband week, then it was disco week, but The X Factor finally settled on a theme for this weekend - Michael Jackson vs Queen! Yep, we're not sure whether it was inspired by the two acts' duet 'There Must Be More To Life Than This', but what we do know is that our final nine acts have a hell of a lot of choice when it comes to picking tracks...
One of our favourite X Factor games is predicting which songs the acts will perform, so we've had a little sift through the Mj and Queen back catalogues to try to figure out what they'll be belting out on Saturday night!
Andrea Faustini - 'The Show Must Go On'
Andrea's already tackled Mj's 'Earth Song', so we think he has to go for a Queen classic, really. And what better than 'The Show Must Go On'?...

One Direction are backing Lauren Platt to win 'The X Factor'. The boy band were formed by Simon Cowell on the pop star search show in 2010, going on to finish in third position behind Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle. The 1D guys have been watching this year's competition and although they accept Andrea Faustini is the favourite they want 17-year-old Lauren to win. Speaking about this year's series, Niall Horan said: ''I think Andrea is going to win it ... but my favourite is Lauren, I really like her - she is really sweet.'' In the joint interview on 'This Morning',...

It's Fright Night on The X Factor this week and boy, wouldn't you know it! Not only are the acts all singing 'Fright Night'-themed songs (or, well, they're supposed to be) but one of them will be booted out before the night is out after Simon Cowell got fed up with them all for not trying hard enough. If that's not all scary enough, The Script will be popping along to perform.
So join us when the show starts at 8pm as we find out who gives us thrills and who gives us chills. And, of course, who's having a right nightmare and will have to leave the competition...
22:12It's not even over - the vote lines are open again, and someone's going to be sent home tomorrow. All your votes still count but we get another free five app ones - hooray! But that's it for...

Ed Sheeran has revealed that he is backing "fantastic" X Factor singer Andrea Faustini on the ITV show this year.
The 23-year-old songwriter admitted that he was even compelled to text Simon Cowell about his admiration for the finalist.
"I texted Cowell about the Italian dude because I think he is fantastic," Sheeran told The Sun.
"I like his love of pugs as well that he gives no f**k and wears whatever he wants."
Faustini is in Mel B's Boys category along with Jake Quickenden, Paul Akister and Jack Walton.
Cowell recently revealed that he had received a text message from One Direction's Liam Payne about how much he loved Walton, who was brought back to the show by Cowell with a wildcard.
Kate Moss also spoke of her love for Faustini as she, Noel Gallagher and Naomi Campbell watched his performance on The X Factor during...

Welcome to the second X Factor results show of the year, part two of John-Lennon-in-1971 1980s Week.
It's another Double Elimination, which means that you the viewer is 100% responsible for the first act we lose tonight. I'm still blaming you lot for Blonde Electra going.
Join us from 8pm to find out who will stay and who will go, and do please join the conversation in the comments box below.
21:00And, as a final comment before we switch over to The Xtra Factor. Simon predicted that Stevi Ritchie would outlast some of Cheryl's girls. He was, annoyingly, right again.
We hope you enjoyed that. Please continue to rant and rave in the comments, and join us next week for more live blog fun.
20:59Well, that's that... four down and still 12 to go. We're pretty much where we should have started a fortnight ago, aren't we?
