The Broadway cast of Hamilton will star Miguel Cervantes in the title role when the hit musical resumes performances at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on September 14.
Cervantes had only recently started playing the role on Broadway when the production, along with the rest of the industry, shut down in March 2020 due to the Covid pandemic. The actor had previously portrayed Hamilton in the Chicago production.
Casting, including Cervantes, for the show was announced today by producer Jeffrey Seller. In addition to the lead actor, Hamilton will feature Krystal Joy Brown as Eliza Hamilton; Mandy Gonzalez as Angelica Schuyler; Tamar Greene as George Washington; Jin Ha as Aaron Burr; James Monroe Iglehart as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson; Euan Morton as King George III; Fergie L. Philippe as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison; Aubin Wise as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds and Daniel Yearwood as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton.

Wesley Snipes is set to star in and produce a casino heist thriller called “Payline” for Dawn’s Light Media and Maandi House Studios, Snipes announced Tuesday.
Snipes will play the villain in the film, which will be the first time Snipes has taken a villain role since 1993’s “Demolition Man,” in which he starred opposite Sylvester Stallone.
Described as a project in the vein of “Ocean’s Eleven” and Ben Wheatley’s “Free Fire,” “Payline” centers on a small-town casino that turns into a battleground after two groups of criminals attempt to rob it on the same night. Rob Robol and Jay S. Boyd wrote the screenplay.

Saban Films has picked up North American rights to Pasha Patriki’s Black Water starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren.
The action-thriller marks the fifth collaboration between Van Damme and Lundgren and follows a framed secret operative who enlists the help of a fellow prisoner and an amateur agent as he attempts to escape from a CIA submarine.
Chad Law wrote Black Water based on a story by Law, Konney and Richard Switzer and is produced by Jason Cherubini, Alexander Ferguson, Tyler W. Konney and Switzer for Dawn’s Light Productions.
Saban Films plans a Q2 theatrical release. Patriki served as executive producer along with David Allen, Patrick DePeters, Eric Fischer, Matthew Helderman, Law, Joe Listhaus, Luke Taylor, and Viviana Zarragoitia.
