Born to an American mother, and a Greek/Palestinian father, Walid spent his first 14 years living in Kuwait. In 1985, his family moved to his mothers home state of South Carolina, where he attended Lexington High School and Newberry College. After Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990, he dropped out of college and enlisted in the US Marine Corps. Although never deployed in combat or overseas, Walid was honorably discharged in 1995. After the Marine Corps, Walid worked in a variety of different jobs; car sales, restaurant owner, police officer, and several other jobs even less interesting. It wasn't until his friend, Josh, encouraged him to answer a notice for the T.V. show Homeland, that he began his new career at age 40.
In just about every project he has been in, he has had an AK-47 as a weapon. (One exception: You can catch him in Sleepy Hollow with a fully functioning .75 cal musket).
Walid has been married and divorced twice. He has three children, Camillia, Cayla, and Sage.
