Former Fox Television Studios and Shine Americas boss Emiliano Calemzuk is to take charge of Israeli network Reshet 13.
Access Entertainment and Wbd-invested Reshet’s board revealed the news today and Calemzuk takes charge of a channel home to the likes of Big Brother, Got Talent and local drama Red Skies. He replaces Yoram Altman, who left several months ago.

After ordering two comedy pilots this morning, the network has commissioned three more, all from a cluster of creatives who have previous experience on some of the Peacock’s biggest comedies.
The first pilot is a single-camera comedy titled “Crazy For You,” which has “Saturday Night Live” producer and “Silicon Valley” writer Rachele Lynn in place to write and co-executive produce. The Universal Television, Broadway Video and Sethmaker Shoemeyers Productions project counts Seth Meyers, Lorne Michaels and Mike Shoemaker among its EPs.

YouTube Premium has nabbed yet another big-ticket name as it continues to build out its original content slate.
David Mirkin, the producer of the iconic animated series The Simpsons, is currently readying a live action sci-fi dramedy series for the video giant dubbed Jeff Of The Universe, Variety reports. Mirkin will write, direct, and executive produce the series, while Daniel March and Holly Hines will executive produce for Dynamic Television alongside former Fox and Endemol Shine executive Emiliano Calemzuk.
The concept of the series is still under wraps, though Mirkin told Variety, “I am so thrilled to be working with the brave folks at YouTube Premium and Dynamic Television. In addition, they are giving us a totally unlimited budget. At least that is what I am assuming.”

A biographical series about Grammy-winning Spanish global hit singer Julio Iglesias is in the works. Miami-based Disney Media Distribution Latin America (Dmdla) has announced at the La Screenings that it has optioned the worldwide rights to “Confessable Secrets,” the memoir of Iglesias’ former manager, Alfredo Fraile.
Fraile is credited for having steered the singing career of Iglesias, who was a reserve goalkeeper for Spain’s Real Madrid until serious injuries from a car accident ruined his aspirations for a career in soccer. Fraile was with Iglesias for 15 years, during which Iglesias sold hundreds of millions of albums in 14 languages worldwide.
The 13-episode series will be co-produced with Miami-based shingle Cinemat, said Fernando Barbosa, senior VP and general manager, Walt Disney Media Distribution, Latin America & U.S. Hispanic Market.
“We started the bio-series genre in 2015 with our show about the singer Juan Gabriel, which scored high ratings on Telemundo,” said Barbosa.
