"Luther" is a TV rarity. A show beloved by fans the world over, it never overstays its welcome, and shows up just when you need it. Created and written by Neil Cross, "Luther" follows Detective Chief Inspector John Luther, an officer consumed with the weight of the crimes he investigates. Across the series, Luther and the other members of his unit, including Detective Sergeant Justin Ripley (Warren Brown), Detective Superintendent Martin Schenk (Dermot Crowley), and DS Benny Silver (Michael Smiley), take to the gritty streets of London and go up against the worst the city has to offer.
When "Luther" first aired in 2010, Idris Elba's star was on the rise. He had supporting roles in films like "28 Weeks Later," "Rocknrolla," and "American Gangster," and had received critical acclaim for his turn as Stringer Bell on "The Wire." Since then, Elba has become a bonafide international star, and Dci...

Written by a Scot, adapted from an American novel, with a US director and two Brits playing Americans in the lead roles, HBO and Sky Atlantic co-production The Time Traveler’s Wife could scarcely be more transatlantic. The six-part time-travel rom-com, written by Steven Moffat based on Audrey Niffenegger’s hit 2003 book, is the story of Henry DeTamble, a Chicago librarian with a fantasy genetic condition that causes him to unexpectedly drop out and into his timeline, disappearing and reappearing in inconvenient times, places and states of undress. Played by Theo James, Henry is the titular time traveller, while his titular wife is Claire Abshire, played here by Rose Leslie (and by Rachel McAdams in the earlier movie.) Here’s where you’ll have seen James and Leslie before.

Luther fans, rejoice! Idris Elba’s gruff detective will put on the signature tweed coat once again for what the BBC is billing as an “utterly heart-stopping and unmissable” four-part season, coming soon.
That’s right, a new run of Luther is on the way and it’ll signal John Luther’s first appearance on our screens since December of 2015. True, Elba slipped back into the role of the iconic sleuth for a Sport Relief sketch at one point, but with the show’s co-creator and writer Neil Cross also on board, fans will no doubt be looking forward to this all-new fifth installment with bated breath.
Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on when it may premiere, but earlier today the BBC unveiled the first footage from season 5 and you can give it a watch up above. It doesn’t offer a whole lot, but we do see Luther...

Luther fans, rejoice! Idris Elba’s gruff detective will don that signature tweed coat once again for what’s said to be an “utterly heart-stopping and unmissable” four-part season, which is coming soon.
That’s right, a new run of Luther is on the way, folks, and it’ll herald John Luther’s first small-screen appearance since December of 2015. Sure, Elba has since reprised as the iconic sleuth, specifically for a Sport Relief sketch, but with the show’s co-creator and writer Neil Cross also on board, fans will no doubt be looking forward to this all-new fifth installment with bated breath. And while the BBC has yet to announce a firm date for when it’ll hit airwaves, we now have the first trailer to feast on.
Seen above, it offers very little unfortunately. There’s no hint of the plot or what the titular detective will be getting up to this time,...
