Epic war-time survival tale “The Guns of Muschu” has already assembled a weighty cast ahead of a production start in the first quarter of 2025.
The film is an adaptation of the non-fiction book “The Guns of Muschu,” written by Don Dennis, with an adapted screenplay by Tom Broadhurst and Jack Brislee (“Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan”). The narrative brings to life a pivotal chapter of Australian war history with gritty authenticity, recounting the high body count Operation Copper, a mission during WWII when Australian and New Zealand troops were sent into the jungles of Papua New Guinea.
The objective of the mission was to investigate the Japanese defenses on Muschu Island, capture a Japanese officer for interrogation and discover the location of two naval guns on the island that were protecting a harbor. Eight commandos were landed as part of the operation, but only one survived.

Guess who's coming to dinner?
A remote cabin in the woods. A series of damp days and long nights of velvety darkness. Over elaborate candlelit dinners, two middle aged sisters on very different paths in life vie for the affections of an old friend who just might be a vampire. Mickey Reece’s gorgeously stylish tribute to Seventies cinema, Climate Of The Hunter, which stars Mary Buss, Ginger Gilmartin and Ben Hall, made a splash at last year’s Fantasia and is now getting a multi-platform online release. I caught up with the Oklahoma director to talk about the film and the impact of suddenly finding fame with his 27th feature.
“It was more of a hobby for a long time. Now it's kind of become more of a career,” he acknowledges, still coming across as a bit shy about acknowledging his own talent. I ask if there’s a...

We have another installment of Horror Highlights, showing you the trailers for Sator and Climate of the Hunter, catching up with the composer of Hunter Hunter, and giving you a heads up on Cryptids joining forces with Dark Matter TV!
Watch the trailer for Sator: "Secluded in a desolate forest home to little more than the decaying remnants of the past, a broken family is further torn apart by a mysterious death. Adam, guided by a pervasive sense of dread, hunts for answers only to learn that they are not alone; an insidious presence by the name of Sator has been observing his family, subtly influencing all of them for years in an attempt to claim them.
The uniquely spectral horror-thriller Sator teases the line between fact and fiction as it’s core story, of a demon making contact with an intimate family, is inspired by director Jordan Graham’s own life.

Sisters Alma (Ginger Gilmartin) and Elizabeth (Mary Buss) have known Wesley (Ben Hall) for may years - since the three of them were children, they sometimes say, but it's not quite clear what that means. What is clear is that Wesley's experience of life has been very different from theirs. He may, in fact be a vampire - but if so, he's a predator of the old school. When he's serious about somebody, he likes to move slowly, to enjoy the hunt, to ensure that he has complete control.
For a gentleman of such persuasions, he is - if one might say so without somebody calling the pun police - something of an acquired taste. He takes suaveness to a vulgar extreme, all rich baritone and red wine, spooling out passages of poetry and philosophy to impress his lady friends, waxing lyrical about the stars and simply insisting on being the.

Exclusive: Blue chip UK talent agency Troika, which reps 300+ clients, is going through a significant transition following the announced departure of co-founders Conor McCaughan and Michael Duff after 15 years at the helm. In his first interview in the role, we spoke to new Executive Chairman Ben Hall about the challenges and opportunities ahead.
It’s a delicate moment for the agency, whose starry client roster has included talent such as Michael Fassbender, Ruth Wilson, Lena Headey, Daniel Kaluuya, Karen Gillan, Anya Taylor-Joy, Michaela Coel, Joe Cole, Peter Capaldi and Matt Smith.
Until recently, one of Troika’s most prized assets was Fifty Shades and The Fall star Jamie Dornan but we understand from multiple sources that the actor is no longer with the agency. Fassbender, it is widely assumed, will ultimately follow his long-time agent McCaughan, with whom he also has production company Dmc Film.

Updated to clarify: BBC One has ordered an eight-episode second season of Russian crime drama McMafia. The series airs on AMC in the U.S, but the network has not yet made a decision on a renewal.
BBC said that it was the UK public broadcaster’s biggest new drama launch this year as well as one of its most popular shows on its digital platform iPlayer.
The series, from Cuba Pictures, charts the journey of Alex Godman, played by James Norton, as he plunges deeper and deeper into the world of organized crime, eventually finding himself unable to resist the lures of corruption.
Created by Hossein Amini and James Watkins and based on the book by Misha Glenny, Amini and Watkins said that they were keen to “cast more light on the shady intersections of transnational criminals”.
