Twenty-four Twitch streamers are going head-to-head in a Tekken tournament organized by fighting game content creator Sajam.
The Sajam Tekken Slam will have streamers like Sykkuno, LilyPichu, Disguised Toast, Sydeon, emilyywang, and Scarra split into teams of four. Those teams are currently spending a week training with fighting game experts Phidx, JustinWong, JoeyFury, Brawlpro, ThenameisMYK, and KawaiiFaceMiles.
Once they’re coached up, teams will duke it out during the livestreamed tournament, which runs March 8 and 10 on Sajam’s Twitch channel (140K followers).
Per Esports Illustrated, the tournament will be “Waseda style,” where each of the four players will be matched to an opponent from the competing team. The four pairs will compete, with the team who gets the most wins out of those four matchups moving on to the next stage of the tournament. If the teams wind up with a 2-2 draw, their coaches will play, and the winning...

After ten years of streaming on Twitch, Pokimane has moved over to YouTube.
At least, for now.
Pokimane, who’s long been one of Twitch’s most-followed (to the tune of 9.3 million people) and most-watched female streamers, dropped an abrupt announcement Jan. 30 that she was leaving the platform.
“the end of an era,” she tweeted. “twitch has been my home for a decade..but it’s time to say thank you for all the memories and love during my League, Fortnite, & Among us days.”
Speculation ran rampant after the tweet, with many people wondering if she’d been poached by Kick, which has signed multimillion-dollar, nonexclusive deals with some of Twitch’s big names, including Amouranth and xQc. Others wondered if she’d follow Valkyrae, Sykkuno, LilyPichu, and more to secure an exclusive deal with YouTube.
Turns out it’s none of the above. Pokimane later revealed that she’d...

Writer/actor Felicia Day made the trek to the 2023 San Diego Comic-Con in support of her fantasy adventure audio series Third Eye, debuting on Audible on October 5, 2023. The seven-hour audio series stars Day as Laurel Pettigrew, a not-so-ordinary San Francisco resident who was supposed to rid the world of the evil Tybus. Unfortunately, Laurel couldn’t fulfill her destiny.
Audible offers this description: “Now, instead of being a legendary hero, Laurel’s the resident pariah of the magic realm. And what’s worse, the dark wizard Tybus swooped in, took over the realm, and forced all supernatural creatures to live under his tyrannical rule. He’s even stripped away the magical powers of those who refused to join his wicked cause. Yeah, everyone hates her. Well, everyone except her two roomies—Sybil, the sassiest diva of a fairy, who could throw shade with the flick of a wing. And Frank,...

Writer and Actress Felicia Day stopped by San Diego Comic-Con along with some of her cast from her new story “Third Eye.” Day is the creator and star of the web series The Guild (2007–2013), a show loosely based on her life as a gamer. As an actress, Day has played Vi in the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (2003) and Dr. Holly Marten in Eureka (2011) and had a recurring role as Charlie Bradbury on Supernatural (2012–2015, 2018–2020).
According to Audible, “Third Eye” is about the magical land of San Francisco, there lived a not-so-ordinary girl named Laurel Pettigrew. She was supposed to be the Chosen One. The plan was simple: She would vanquish the great evil Tybus in an epic battle. But destiny had other ideas, and Laurel’s performance in the whole heroics department was a colossal flop.

Streamers who spend too much time online are often told that they should go outside and “touch grass.” Across a recent series of videos, several prominent 100 Thieves partners took that advice literally. 20 members of the esports and entertainment organization — including co-owners Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop and Rachell ‘Valkyrae’ Hofstetter — bid farewell to the second-annual Creator Camp by playing a massive game of ‘2 Truths 1 Lie.’
Creator Camp, first organized last year, invites 100 Thieves creators to a lakeside setting, where they can partake in classic summertime games and activities. The 2022 edition of the get-together has a new sponsor in AT&T, but its premise is mostly the same. If you’ve ever wanted to see extremely competitive gamers play incredibly low-stakes games, Creator Camp is the series for you.
The finale of the 2022 Camp presents the 100 Thieves crew with a classic campfire format. By playing ‘2 Truths 1 Lie,’ these creators revealed some fascinating facts about themselves.

During a recent stream, Leslie “Fuslie” Fu said a tearful goodbye to her beloved Twitch viewers, which led to speculation that she would soon sign with YouTube Gaming. Days later, Fu officially announced her move to YouTube by strumming a guitar, singing a song, and hanging out with her friends (and fellow YouTube signees) Valkyrae, Sykkuno, and LilyPichu.
But if Fu was so attached to her Twitch community, why would she abandon them to sign with YouTube? There are cynical answers to that question, including the ones having to do with money, but Ludwig Ahgren has a few other ideas. The YouTube-signed creator took to his Mogul Mail channel to discuss how two recent additions to YouTube Gaming — Fuslie and FaZe Swagg — fit into the platform’s roster.
Ahgren believes that the guest stars in Fu’s video explain why YouTube was eager to sign her. The former Among Us...

The exodus of top Twitch talent continues unabated.
The latest big name to sign an exclusive streaming contract with YouTube Gaming is FaZe Swagg (real name Kris Lamberson), who entertains millions of followers with his Call of Duty gameplay.
Lamberson, who was previously known simply as Swagg, joined FaZe Clan in 2020. Like the other members of the publicly-traded entertainment organization, he has used his platform to bridge the gap between gaming and sports. He is one of the members of Nuke Squad, a team that is now closely associated with FaZe. One of the members of that Squad is Anthony Davis, an NBA All-Star who currently plays for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Speaking of the Lakers, Lamberson also has ties to that team’s most iconic player. After getting signed to the gaming division at management firm Underscore Talent, the streamer landed himself another representation deal earlier this year. He...
