David De Leon is a double major in film productions and psychology from the University of Northwestern, Saint Paul, and the Los Angeles Film Studies Center. He resides in North Hollywood, CA, and currently writes, directs, and edits videos for a variety of projects.
As a young child, David started writing short stories before he could even spell. He began writing puppet plays for children in Sunday school and a feature film for a soccer camp. During college, he wrote two feature length screenplays and dozens of short scripts, six of which were turned into short films. One of his features includes a fictional adventure story based on his stuffed animal he has had since childhood.
David was raised with a family of computer geeks and has been editing films for several years. Starting at the age of 16, he worked on editing videos for speech and debate clubs in Minnesota. He is familiar with the majority of editing software including Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Sony Vegas Pro, and Final Cut 7. While in Los Angeles, David has also edited a short film which was shot entirely on the Red Epic.
A great passion of David's is researching and writing a variety of topics. As an intern, he has worked for film producer Avi Arad (The Amazing Spider-Man) at Arad Productions researching filmmakers, movies and actors, and writing script coverage for screenplays. In almost every film project, David does excessive research to achieve more in-depth story lines in his movies to bring out more realistic characters and settings.
David's leadership has expanded from a variety of different locations. He served as an executive staff leader for Northwestern Film Productions for two semesters. While in college, he has served as director, producer, writer, and editor for a variety of student films. During his spare time, he coaches high school students in their preparation for different speech competitions.
