Caroline Williams (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2) has joined the cast of He Sees You When You’re Sleeping, a Christmas slasher slated to be released this holiday season by The Horror Collective.
A young man’s Christmas homecoming turns into a nightmare as a killer in a Santa suit gruesomely picks off his estranged, wealthy family for their fortune.
Williams is joined by Nicholas Vince, mostly known for his role in Hellraiser as well as David Lenik (An English Haunting), Peyton Michelle Edwards (Goodbye Honey) alongside horror veterans Lauren Marie-Taylor (Friday the 13th Part 2).
He Sees You When You’re Sleeping comes from director Charlie Steeds, who produced with Tom Malloy under his Trick Candle Productions banner. Malloy, who also plays a role in the movie, has produced horror films such as #Screamers, The Attic, and The Alphabet Killer. Back in 1986, Caroline Williams played one of my all-time favorite horror final girls, “Stretch” in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. She has followed that with several more horror movie appearances, taking roles in the likes of Leprechaun 3, Blind, and the recent Nicolas Cage Dracula movie Renfield, among many others. Now The Horror Collective has announced that they’ll be bringing us a Christmas-set (and 80s-set) slasher called He Sees You When You’re Sleeping this holiday season, and Williams is in the cast of that movie as well!
Directed by Charlie Steeds, who is also producing the film with Tom Malloy under his Trick Candle Productions banner, He Sees You When You’re Sleeping has the following synopsis: A young man’s Christmas homecoming turns into a nightmare as a killer in a Santa suit gruesomely picks off his estranged, wealthy family for their fortune.

Bloody Disgusting has learned this week that Caroline Williams (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2) has joined the cast of He Sees You When You’re Sleeping, a Christmas slasher slated to be released this holiday season by The Horror Collective.
In the upcoming slasher, a young man’s Christmas homecoming turns into a nightmare as a killer in a Santa suit gruesomely picks off his estranged, wealthy family for their fortune.

Director/Producer Charlie Steeds said in a statement, “I knew David Lenik’s campy Christmas-themed slasher would be a blast to direct. It’s set in the ’80s and we filmed on location in New York State. The script draws inspiration from horror classics such as Black Christmas,...

Freeze gave us Lovecraftian horrors in the Arctic, now for a followup writer/director Charlie Steeds takes us to the Antarctic to face even more of them in the deep sea thriller Gods of the Deep.
Jim Peters is a professor of astrobiology at Miskatonic University’s London campus. He’s carrying on the work of his father, who vanished under mysterious circumstances while working for The Pickman Corporation. They help fund his research, but that doesn’t mean he trusts them. But when they want him to join an expedition to explore a strange structure discovered in an oceanic trench off Antarctica, he can’t refuse.
The film skips over the two months of training they need without so much as a Rocky-style montage, so the next thing you know...

For those fancying a return to old-school point-and-click adventure titles, Postmodern Adventures’ An English Haunting looks to fill that niche. No relation to the Charlie Steeds film of the same name, the game is inspired by the works of horror authors such as M.R. James, Algernon Blackwood, and Arthur Machen, and is currently in development for release on Steam.
An English Haunting sees an enthusiasm for spiritualism gripping 1907 London. Séances and theatrical shows where spirits make contact with their living families are all the rage, and there are a legion of investigators trying to discover the secrets of the supernatural. Among them is Professor Patrick Moore, who is faced with a dilemma: he’s got 72 hours to prove the existence of the Great Beyond, or else his Metapsychic Investigations Department will be shut down forever.
Racing against the clock, with the help of a fake medium named Beatrice Shaw, he...

A full Free Movie of the Day is posted on the JoBlo Horror Movies YouTube channel every other day during the week – but on Fridays things get even freakier and a little more fun. Get your weekend started the right way by indulging in Friday Fright Nights! Every Friday, we’ll be taking a look at another genre movie you can watch in its entirety, free of charge, either on the YouTube channel linked above or in the video embed here.
The Friday Fright Night feature we have for you this week is called An English Haunting – which doesn’t leave much question as to what sort of movie this might be. Of course it’s a haunted house movie. And this isn’t always a horror sub-genre that I get much enjoyment out of, because shots of creaky doors swinging open by themselves don’t do anything for me.

Freeze, the new film from writer/director Charlie Steeds tells of the good ship Innsmouth, it’s Captain Mortimer and a crew that includes first mate McCullough, Charles Redgrave an artist there to document the voyage, Lieutenant Roth, and Seaman Spriggs. Also, unbeknownst to the crew there’s Carmen (Beatrice Barrilà; Invisible – Chapter I) a stowaway with an agenda of her own. They’ve been sent to find out what happened to the expedition led by Mortimer’s friend Sir William Streiner which ventured into the frozen north and never returned. Unfortunately the Innsmouth becomes trapped in the ice and its crew face the same fate as those they were supposed to rescue.

Headed our way this winter is the next horror movie from director Charlie Steeds (The Barge People), the Lovecraftian creature feature Freeze from Dark Temple Motion Pictures.
The arctic horror movie won the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival’s Best Film Award 2022, which gives it some legit Lovecraft cred. You can watch the official trailer for Freeze below.
“On a rescue mission to the North Pole to retrieve an old friend and his lost expedition crew, Captain Mortimer gets more than he bargained for when his ship is frozen into the ice sheet and set upon by bloodthirsty fish-creatures. Mortimer and his surviving crew flee the ship, beginning a treacherous journey to find safety in a frozen desolate wilderness.
“Suffering from starvation, frostbite and a slow madness, they find shelter inside a snowy mountain, but are they as safe as they think, or have they entered the heart of the creatures lair.

Originally titled The Haunting of the Bloody Tower and shot back to back with Werewolf Castle, The Haunting of the Tower of London sees writer/director Charlie Steeds go off in another new direction with his films. Where Werewolf Castle was more of a medieval fantasy, The Haunting of the Tower of London is a historical horror/mystery that plays a bit like a mix of the Vincent Price films The Tower of London and Witchfinder General with a supernatural element added in for good measure.
Based extremely loosely on actual events The Haunting of the Tower of London opens with the discovery of the corpses of two missing princes. The future Richard III, currently the Duke of Gloucester and “the most feared man...

We’re not five minutes into Charlie Steeds’ new film, Werewolf Castle when he unleashes Wolfstan (Reece Connolly; A Werewolf in England) and his horde of lycanthropes on a Medieval town. They kill everyone they can find, including a young lass who they kill while her lover Thorfinn (Peter Lofsgard; The Mummy) hides.
Three knights Thomas (Greg Draven; Ravenswood), Osmond who is introduced as their fastest rider even though we never actually see them on horseback, Hamelin and the rogue Hal Skullsplitter (Jay O’Connell; The Legend of Jack and Jill) arrive to deal with the problem. But can they, and Thorfinn who is desperate to atone for his cowardice, find a way to stop these creatures?

"Nobody been on this damn ranch since granddaddy died." "Nobody but us." 4Digital Media has released a new official trailer for a '70s throwback indie feature titled Death Ranch, from filmmaker Charlie Steeds. This looks like some Blaxploitation madness that should be a part of Grindhouse more than a real film. Deiondre Teagle & Faith Monique & Travis Cutner star as three African American siblings on the run from police that take refuge at a Tennessee Ranch, unaware it's on the hunting grounds of a Ku Klux Klan cult. Trapped and tortured, they fight to escape and take down the bloodthirsty Klan to get revenge on them. The cast includes Scot Scurlock & Brad Belemjian. I wish this looked better than it does in this trailer. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Charlie Steeds' Death Ranch, direct from YouTube: 1970s USA. Director: Charlie Steeds. Writer: Christopher Lombard. Cast: Kate Davies-Speak, Mark McKirdy, Natalie Martins, Makenna Guyler, Matt Swales and Kane Surry. Barge People is the third film from United Kingdom director Charlie Steeds (Escape from Cannibal Farm). Another Dark Temple Motion Pictures production, this feature was completed in 2018 and released later that year, in London. Finally in North America, this indie horror title delivers a decent synth' soundtrack to a boat trip, gone very wrong. Meanwhile, writer Christopher Lombard knows his horror well and brings in elements of Tobe Hooper's Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) here, with a cannibal family stalk-and-chase. The make-up effects are spot-on, while the initial set-up is a bit slow. This viewer liked Barge People more on the second playthrough, with the film offering a bloody good time along a deadly canal. Sam Benjafield's music consistently gels well with the film. The soundtrack moves from softer melodies,...

I’ve been a fan, nay Huge fan, of writer/director Charlie Steeds since I first saw his 2017 British-made pastiche of Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Escape From Cannibal Farm. Since then I’ve eagerly awaited each and every one of his films – though to be fair to Steeds, the releases of his film can be very haphazard. Winterskin debuted on DVD before The Barge People, which actually lensed first. Unfortunately, the UK release of the aforementioned Escape From Cannibal Farm remains in limbo thanks to 88 Films buying the rights and then deciding to focus on re-releasing cult films rather than new movies and sitting on it for 2 years (so far).
I finally got to see An English Haunting, Steeds’ take...

Charlie Steeds, director of [Escape From] Cannibal Farm, Winterskin and The Barge People is back once again for An English Haunting, an altogether different film for Steeds given his past track record.
You see those three aforementioned films are very much in a different realm than An English Haunting, they run the gamut from to exploitation to monster movie to 80s-throwback gore-fest. And whilst the previous three films homaged the kinds of movies you’d find in your local video shop back in the 80s/90s – the films of Tobe Hooper, John Carpenter etc.; An English Haunting is more in the vein of the classic M.R. James Christmas ghost stories than genre fans still rave about to this day. It also has one of the most succinct titles of recent memory!

Tagline: "Be Careful What You Look For." An English Haunting is the latest film from director Charlie Steeds (The Barge People). This latest title is set in the '60s, at an isolated estate. Here, Blake and his mother must look after their dying grandfather. But, something else resides in the manor. Already in post-production, this release stars: David Lenik. (Winterskin), Tessa Wood (The Last House on Cemetery Lane) and Rory Wilton. A trailer was released for An English Haunting recently and the film's sales art can also be found here, too. A longer synopsis, for the film, was released in 2019. These story details mention a live-in nurse, who has mysteriously disappeared. Ghosts haunt the halls. And, this dying grandfather's illness might have a supernatural origin. An English Haunting is being represented by High Octane Pictures, for a future release. This title is expected to show in the United States,...

Amazonian lagoons, Chicago sewer systems, Korean rivers, and the open ocean: all have been beset by submarine monsters with a hankering for human flesh. But until retro-styled man-fish-freakout The Barge People, Britain’s canals had yet to be given the genre treatment.
Directed by Charlie Steeds and penned by Christopher Lombard, this is a fish-out-of-water story in more ways than one. We follow sisters Kat (Kate Davies-Speak) and Sophie (Natalie Martins) and their respective partners Mark (Mark McKirdy) and Ben (Matt Swales), four well-to-do thirty-something city dwellers who hire a barge and set sail down the Kennet and Avon Canal in search of respite from modern-day distractions only to fall foul of a few of the area’s less hospitable denizens.
Britain’s waterways, rendered here in gorgeous golds and greens by cinematographer Michael Lloyd, are a fertile setting for fear and loathing. The narrowboat locale isolates the characters threefold—in a confined environment,...

I absolutely adored writer/director Charlie Steeds Cannibal Farm, a film that has seemingly been held to ransom by its UK distributors, with a release – under the title Escape From Cannibal Farm – promised for what seems like an eternity. In the meantime Steeds has filmed three more films, of which Winterskin is the last to be made and the latest to be released.
Essentially a two-character production, Winterskin takes a leaf out of Stephen King’s Misery in presenting a protagonist seemingly trapped by a cray woman, in this case in a remote cabin in the middle of snowy nowhere. Our protagonist, Billy Cavanagh, is “accidentally” gunned down in said snowy wilderness and desperate for shelter he’s taken in by kooky old lady Agnes,...

Tagline: "No One Escapes." The Barge People is the latest film from production house Dark Temple Motion Pictures. Also developed by director Charlie Steeds (Escape from Cannibal Farm, 2017), this is the third film from Dark Temple. Their latest involves a trip on a canal. In the water, flesh-eating creatures lurk just out of sight. This British film is still in post-production. It is expected to release in late 2018, or early 2019. As well, the film stars: Kate Davies-Speak (Deadman Apocalypse, 2015), Mark McKirdy, and Makenna Guyler. The film's first trailer is hosted here, along with the film's official poster. The long form synopsis mentions a boat crash. Two sisters and their boyfriends run into a canal dwelling family. Unhappy with the results of the conflict, this family breaks into their boat, at night. They torture everyone aboard, with mutant fishmen joining the fray. The trailer is a good one. It shows some...

The Harver family head out on an idyllic summer camping trip where they can bury past tensions and enjoy some family bonding. But when their camp is sabotaged by an unseen intruder in the night, they head to the nearby creepy old farm desperate for help, where vengeful farmer Hunt Hansen and his hideously deformed son aren’t farming animals…
Let’s get this out of the way first. Yes, Cannibal Farm is essentially, at its core, a British pastiche of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre; however the film has more than enough interesting story beats and great performances to make this film stand on its own two feet.
For starters Cannibal Farm, whilst featuring tropes...

Currently in post-production and set for release this year, the Christopher Lombard-penned, Charlie Steeds-directed The Barge People looks a bit like The Hills Have Eyes meets H.P. Lovecraft, centered on a group of friends who find themselves preyed upon by flesh-eating fish mutants that would be right at home in Lovecraft’s stories. This is 2018’s craziest trailer so far. Tagline: "All You Can Do is Run!" Charlie Steeds' Cannibal Farm will show through Video-on-demand, in 2018. The film, which is heavily influenced by The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), was shot in the United Kingdom. Sometimes titled Escape from Cannibal Farm, this indie horror title involves a family camping trip and a strange farm. The family is attacked, leaving them stranded in the countryside. Cannibal Farm stars: Kate Davies-Speak (Deadman Apocalypse), Barrington De La Roche, David Lenik, Rowena Bentley, Toby Wynn-Davies, and Peter Cosgrove. A preview of the film's initial launch are hosted here. The film's official VOD movie poster has also been released. Very Leatherface-esque, the graphic shows a masked man and a large chainsaw. The chainsaw is obviously excited, while the tagline states: "all you can do is run!" The film promises to chain some of the characters up. High Octane Pictures is releasing the film, in the United States.
