Lionsgate has released the first full-length trailer for Spiral: From the Book of Saw, the latest film in the Saw franchise, starring Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson. Originally scheduled to be released last spring, the horror movie was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and will now be released May 14th, 2021 in theaters.
Spiral follows Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Rock), his police veteran father (Jackson), and Zeke’s rookie partner William Schenk (Max Minghella) as they investigate a series of murders that are eerily reminiscent of the Jigsaw Killer’s grisly crimes.

“Spiral: From the Book of Saw,” the ninth installment in the Saw horror franchise, will premiere in theaters a week earlier than originally planned. The film, starring Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson, is now set to debut on May 14.
Lionsgate, the studio behind “Spiral,” opted to move up opening weekend because cinemas in New York and Los Angeles, two of the biggest moviegoing markets in the country, have recently reopened. On Tuesday, Disney’s “Black Widow” vacated its May 7 slot, leaving room on the calendar. “Spiral” will open on the same day as Angelina Jolie’s thriller “Those Who Wish Me Dead.”
