[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Interview With the Vampire Season 2 Episode 4, “I Want You More Than Anything in the World.”] Claudia and Louis have reached a point of no return in Interview With the Vampire Season 2. Delainey Hayles tells TV Insider that “trust is gone” between them after Claudia learned Louis (Jacob Anderson) concealed Armand’s (Assad Zaman) knowledge of their history with Lestat (Sam Reid) from her in Season 2 Episode 4, “I Want You More Than Anything in the World.” This led to a blowout fight between the father-daughter duo, during which Hayles says Claudia was still trying to take care of Louis despite her “seeing red” because of him. Armand threatened Claudia for spending time with the human Madeleine (the alluring Roxane Duran) and away from the theater in the episode, which aired Sunday, June 2 on AMC. Given her murderous history, does Claudia now want to kill Armand? “I think she wants to kill Louis first,” Hayles...

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Interview With the Vampire season 2, episode 3, “No Pain.” Louis (Jacob Anderson) and Armand’s (Assad Zaman) relationship is definitely heating up, but Louis still isn’t over his toxic ex on Interview With the Vampire — and it’s creating some seriously fatal consequences. Coven Tensions and Forbidden Bonds In Sunday’s episode, Louis and Armand grow closer despite his refusal to join Armand’s Théâtre des Vampires coven. While Claudia (Delainey Hayles) gleefully joins, the coven won’t allow Louis to live without following their strict rules, so they order Armand to kill Louis. But Armand does...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Interview With the Vampire Season 2 Episode 3, “No Pain.”] No one can stop talking about the vampire Lestat. The portrayal of Sam Reid‘s French vampire has been entirely controlled by Louis’ (Jacob Anderson) answers in his interview with Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) and Claudia’s (Delainey Hayles) journals in Seasons 1 and 2. But a new narrator gives their take on him in Interview With the Vampire Season 2 Episode 3, “No Pain,” and Armand’s (Assad Zaman) memory of Lestat is notably different. “No Pain” is the brief first adaptation of Anne Rice‘s The Vampire Lestat, the sequel novel to 1976’s Interview With the Vampire that provides Lestat’s backstory and his version of the events of the first book. That origin story is told in short form in “No Pain,” but should the series be renewed for Season 3, showrunner Rolin Jones assures more of this story will be explored. Armand tells Daniel the story ...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Interview With the Vampire Season 2 Episode 2, “Do You Know What it Means to be Loved by Death.”] Coven, knock on our door. We’ve been waiting for you! Three’s more than company as Louis (Jacob Anderson) and Claudia (Delainey Hayles) fall in deeper with new Parisian vampire pal Armand (Assad Zaman). As the show’s rabid and so-devoted fans already know, this is the launch of the Théâtre des Vampires arc and, in a way, the beginning of the end for certain characters from Anne Rice‘s classic tale of homoerotic hemoglobin addicts. Larry Horricks / AMC This is also the hour that unleashes the great Ben Daniels, who devours the scenery as Santiago. AMC appears to be "all in" when it comes to bringing Anne Rice's work to television. Interview with the Vampire is her best-known work, so it would seem logical that this TV show would be renewed for a third season, even if the second season's ratings aren't as high as hoped. Could Interview with the Vampire be cancelled instead? Stay tuned.

AMC masterfully transposes Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire from unique literary expression to a cinematic episodic television experience. As series creator and executive producer Rolin Jones told an enthusiastic crowd at an advance screening at the 92nd Street Y in Manhattan, these are two different art forms, with their own artistic needs and devotees. Changes are necessary for the proper telling, and the contemporary audience at large.
Claudia is five years old in the 1976 book. Her age is the very heart of the story because Anne Rice wrote the novel while mourning the death of her daughter, Michele. Modern sensitivities resist the tortured distinction, and the network provides respectful distance. The series’ acting part is even updated, with Delainey Hayles taking the young vampire role originally portrayed by Bailey Bass. There are several alterations in the adaptation...

Following its critically acclaimed first season, AMC’s “Interview with the Vampire” is back for round two, and the Gothic drama based on Anne Rice’s beloved novels remains one of TV’s best and brightest despite the inherent darkness within.
The new season (premiering Sunday at 9/8c on AMC and AMC+) picks up in the aftermath of the jaw-dropping reveal that closed out the show’s freshman outing: Louis’ (Jacob Anderson) loyal assistant Rashid is actually his vampire lover, Armand (Assad Zaman). Once again the show makes excellent use of its unique interview framing to jump between multiple timelines as Louis weaves a complicated tale for journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian), one that explores his relationships with both Armand and Claudia, beginning with their adventures in Paris in the 1940s.

Plot: As Louis and Claudia escape to Paris after killing Lestat, and are ready to embark on new relationships in the new city. But they find themselves in a world influenced by Lestat, especially when they join the Theatre de Vampires, a performing group found by Lestat.
Review: Timed perfectly to Halloween, the 2022 debut of Interview with the Vampire beautifully updated the first volume in Anne Rice’s vast series for a new generation. With a young cast and a more overt take on the homoerotic elements of the novels, AMC’s series was designed to kickstart a cinematic universe of adaptations from the author’s works. While Mayfair Witches did not work as well, the second season of Interview with the Vampire is a welcome return to the stories of Louis, Claudia, Lestat, and more. Billed as “Part II,” the second season chronicles the back half of Rice’s novel.

To call AMC‘s Interview With the Vampire intense is an understatement. Harrowing, gut-wrenching, terrifying, heartbreaking — these words are more fitting, especially in Season 2, premiering Sunday, May 12. Given how bat-sh*t crazy this new season will be, we wanted to provide fans with a needed moment of levity. Behold: The cast of the very serious, very dark Interview With the Vampire playing with blocks. Jacob Anderson, Sam Reid, Eric Bogosian, Assad Zaman, and Delainey Hayles are an energetic bunch whose chemistry radiates throughout our studio as they play TV Insider’s Knock Your Blocks Off. Just like you’d find in a bar, random questions are written on each block, some with a TV twist. You’ll hear some gasps in the room when Reid, whose Lestat de Lioncourt appears as a haunting hallucination in Season 2, pulls the block that asks if he believes in ghosts. That’s not the...

You asked, and Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid answered. So did Delainey Hayles, Eric Bogosian, and Assad Zaman! In TV Insider’s exclusive interview (embedded above), the stars of AMC‘s Interview With the Vampire Season 2 answer fan questions submitted to us on social media. One question on many fans’ minds were what songs the cast would use to describe their character’s arcs this season. For Anderson, Taylor Swift‘s “Anti-Hero” rings true. For Reid, it’s Fiona Apple‘s “Criminal.” Bogosian and Hayles can’t help but laugh at their answers, “Walk on the Wild Side” by Lou Reed and “Livin’ in the Sunlight, Lovin’ in the Moonlight” by Maurice Chavalier. (Dive back into Zaman’s fan questions video here.) Another big question: What surprised the cast most about this season? Their answers above indicate the twists baked into Part 2 of this adaptation, brought to life by showrunner...

“Do you know what it means to be loved by death?”
Anne Rice is a prolific gothic horror novelist who has eternally changed the shape of vampire fiction. Anne’s literature has flourished for decades, but the film and TV adaptations of her best works have been a mixed bag. Many audiences were ready to dismiss Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire when it first premiered on AMC in 2022, only for it to rise from its grave as one of the year’s best series – horror or otherwise. Interview with the Vampire perfectly captures Rice’s painful pathos that uses the veil of supernatural storytelling and monstrous creatures to explore the human condition. Interview with the Vampire’s second season elevates its moving character development to greater heights and improves upon everything that already worked so well in its debut season. Interview with the Vampire Season 2: Cast, plot, premiere date, and everything else there is to know
The timeless love story at the heart of AMC’s Interview with the Vampire won many fans in 2022, but with increased delays for the second season, a lot has changed during the extended hiatus.
It’s rare for a vampire drama to offer more than it borrows from the genre, but the show managed to break through armed with many of Anne Rice’s unique storylines from the novel series.
At the time of its launch, AMC was losing The Walking Dead as the long-running zombie drama signed off after 11 seasons, so new franchises were in demand by the cabler.
Interview with the Vampire broke through with critical acclaim. The show garnered plenty of praise and solid ratings, resulting in a very early renewal for Season 2.
Now that new episodes are approaching, we must review everything we know about the upcoming season.
Get all the details below.

If you’ve been theorizing that Armand has a hand in the suppression of Louis’ painful memories in AMC‘s Interview With the Vampire, the newest trailer for Season 2 adds more fuel for that fire. Louis’ memories come flooding back in the new Interview With the Vampire Season 2 trailer, released during The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live finale on Sunday, March 31, and they’re a doozy. We see Claudia (Delainey Hayles) scream, “It’s never been about me!” from the Théâtres des Vampires stage, her face bruised and bloodied, Louis attacking Lestat (Sam Reid) in a fit of rage, and more painful moments as Jacob Anderson‘s troubled vampire tells Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) they need to “get every detail right” in their Dubai interview. It’s a gut-wrenching experience for him as “all those years” start “coming back.” Claudia is initiated into the Parisian vampire coven, which Armand...

Interview With the Vampire just dropped the best trailer you’ll see all season. Cut by series creator Rolin Jones, the three-minute Interview With the Vampire Season 2 trailer shows passionate moments between Louis (Jacob Anderson) and Armand (Assad Zaman) as their relationship develops, but underscoring it all is Lestat’s (Sam Reid) haunting presence and flashbacks to his time before Louis, a time when he met Armand and seemingly had an intimate relationship, and a building intensity of the Dubai interview in 2022. As if that weren’t enough, the trailer also reveals flashbacks to young Daniel Molloy’s (Luke Brandon Field) original interview with Louis in San Francisco in 1973. “You don’t understand the meaning of your own story!” the young journalist yells, directly referencing a line from Anne Rice‘s original novel of the same name. It also reveals Succession‘s Justin Kirk speaking to present-day Daniel (Eric Bogosian) in a mystery role.

Assad Zaman found out halfway through his Interview With the Vampire audition process that he wasn’t just vying for the role of Rashid. Unbeknownst to the actor, 33, series creator and showrunner Rolin Jones had big plans for his presence in what would become the hit TV adaptation of Anne Rice‘s most famous novel. The Season 1 finale revealed the truth behind the curtain: Rashid wasn’t assistant to Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) — he was the 514-year-old vampire Armand, equipped with the flying “cloud gift” that Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) concealed from Louis for so long. Viewers will meet the real Armand in Interview With the Vampire Season 2, premiering Sunday, May 12 on AMC and AMC+. We know fans are dying to see this character fully fleshed out, so what do we know about Armand already? For starters, we know he’s of vital importance to Rice...

After a brief halt in production, AMC was able to secure “significant agreements” with the SAG-AFTRA actors union that allowed them to continue filming Interview with the Vampire season 2 during the SAG strike (which finally ended last month), keeping the show on track for its 2024 premiere. A specific premiere date hasn’t been announced yet, but TV Insider has gotten their hands on a pair of images that show Sam Reid back in the role of the vampire Lestat – and it looks like these images show Lestat in two different time periods. You can check them out at the bottom of this article.
Executive producer Mark Johnson has previously said that Interview with the Vampire season 2 takes place in the 1790s, 1940s, 1970s, and 2023. TV Insider is guessing that one image shows Lestat in the 1790s, while the other shows him in the 1940s.
