- Sislin Fay Allen was born in March 1938 in St. Catherine Parish, Jamaica, British West Indies. She died on July 5, 2021 in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
- In 1968 she became the first Black policewoman in Great Britain and later worked in law enforcement in her native Jamaica.
- She left the Met in 1972 after four years, and returned to Jamaica with her family, joining the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
- She trained as a nurse in Great Britain's National Health Service, and worked at a geriatric hospital for several years. She saw an advertisement in the newspaper for recruits to the London Metropolitan Police, applied, and was accepted. She first served as a constable in South London, to be near her family, and later was assigned to Scotland Yard's missing-persons bureau. Her final post was at another station house in southwest London.
