John Wood(LIX)

John was born John Berney in Plymouth on 21 December 1959. He grew up in New Malden, West Wittering and Liphook.
In October 2012, he won a British Film Institute competition to find the biggest Monty Python fan.
His father, Leonard Berney, liberated Belsen Concentration Camp and his step father, Ken Wood, founded Kenwood Manufacturing (the food mixer company). In 1982, John officially changed his name to his step father's name, Wood.
John is the younger brother of rock band manager Steve Wood.
He is the godson of the Maharaja (Jagaddipendra Narayan) and Maharani (Gina Narayan) of Cooch Behar.
He attended Cranleigh School near Guildford, and the University of Surrey.
He has one son, a step daughter and a step son and he lives in East Grinstead. He has been a Scientologist since the 1970s.
