Listening to how Mike Hill breaks down the issue of how Hollywood makes heroes out of amoral characters is kind of interesting. Personally I think he was a little too harsh on Jurassic World as a movie but he does bring up some strong points of how Claire was somehow seen as a strong and well-developed character. You remember Claire? The redheaded, highly-opinionated boss of the park that ran a tight ship and yet couldn’t make time for her nephews? Yeah, she was well-developed, and she was the protagonist of the story. That’s funny, I always assumed that the main

Among the beautiful suburban Los Angeles homes of San Fernando Valley is one twisted collection of horrors. Guillermo del Toro recently opened his doors to Andy Richter and the Conan crew for a tour of his massive home filled to the brim with collectibles.
Among the gun props from “Hell Boy,” numerous medical oddities and memorabilia are del Toro’s incredibly lifelike wax mannequin roommates. H.P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allen Poe read their books in the living room, while upstairs is a replica of Mike Hill from “Jason and the Argonauts.”

“How long did it take you before having incredibly life sized mannequins freaked you out? Like, do you wake up in the night?” asks Richter.
Of course it doesn’t scare the master of horror. In fact, he watches television with the possessed Linda Blair.

Sandy Collora, the man behind Batman: Dead End, one of the greatest fan films ever made, is developing an awesome-sounding new short film project called "Shallow Water." The movie is described as a “gritty, intense short film, introducing a new and terrifying aquatic creature.” This will be the first short in a retro horror/sci-fi anthology feature film that he will be developing over the next couple of years, and he's started a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the project.
I’m a huge fan of anthology films, and this sounds like it will be amazing! This is the kind of stuff I love to see get made, and with the level of talent that’s behind it, there’s no doubt in my mind that it’s going to deliver something incredible! Below you'll find a synopsis and more information on the project:

Oscar winner Ron Howard (“A Beautiful Mind”) directs the action adventure In The Heart Of The Sea, based on Nathaniel Philbrick’s best-selling book about the dramatic true journey of the Essex.
In the winter of 1820, the New England whaling ship Essex was assaulted by something no one could believe: a whale of mammoth size and will, and an almost human sense of vengeance. The real-life maritime disaster would inspire Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick. But that told only half the story. In The Heart Of The Sea reveals the encounter’s harrowing aftermath, as the ship’s surviving crew is pushed to their limits and forced to do the unthinkable to stay alive. Braving storms, starvation, panic and despair, the men will call into question their deepest beliefs, from the value of their lives to the morality of their trade.
