There’s been endless speculation about who’s going to play the next James Bond. Idris Elba? Damien Lewis? Tom Hardy? Could be any of them (but should be the latter). But there’s a bigger question surrounding the man behind the 007 codename as Spectre approaches – will Daniel Craig be back for a fifth film?
Talk has jumped back and forth over the past few months (I threw my own take out there a few weeks back), but now we’ve got some pretty decisive words from the man himself.
In an brutally frank interview with Time Out, Craig had a few choice quotes about his future as Bond:
“[Do another Bond movie] now? I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists. No, not at the moment. Not at all. That’s fine. I’m over it at the moment. We’re done. All I want to do is move on.

Throughout the build-up to the release of Sam Mendes’ spy sequel Spectre, speculation has been rife regarding which actor would succeed Daniel Craig in the role of James Bond. From Damien Lewis to the much-touted addition of Idris Elba, the Internet has deliberated over the next Bond for months at this point, though it seems in this case, the simplest answer happens to be the right one a la Occam’s Razor.
That’s right, rather than pass on the torch and Walther Ppk after the release of Spectre, actor Daniel Craig remains confident that he’ll reprise the role of the famed super spy for Bond 25 – he is contractually obliged for one more film, after all – stating that he will continue to embark on globe-trotting adventures as the legendary agent for “as long as [he’s] physically able.”

So, if you believe lame British tabloid rumors, the new James Bond has already been decided. That would be Damien Lewis, the former star of “Homeland," who is about to appear in Showtime’s “Billions” from writer/directors Brian Koppelman and David Levien. You’ll probably also see him co-starring in Werner Herzog’s “Queen Of The Desert” sometime in 2016. But maybe everyone should hold their horses for one quick second before predicting the new Bond, or declaring potential actors “too street” to play the role. Because in a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Daniel Craig says he’s signed on for one more Bond movie and suggests he has no plans to go anywhere at the moment. “I work myself to death,” the actor admitted about the physical training prep for the role. “It’s getting harder. But such is life. I’ll keep going as long as I’m physically able.
