Prison Break star Wentworth Miller has opened up about his decision to leave the popular drama series.
In a new post on Instagram, the actor seemed confidently ‘done’ with playing straight characters, including his long running role as Prison Break’s Michael Scofield. Miller previously came out as gay back in August 2013 after penning a letter on GLAAD’s website about how “deeply troubled” he was by the Russian government’s treatment of LGBT citizens.
Miller played the role of Scofield over five seasons on Fox from 2006 to 2017, which included a later revival. The show’s original set-up had his character concocting an elaborate plan to break brother Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) out of jail with the help of his new love interest Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies), the prison’s doctor.
But there will be no revival of Prison Break that features Miller in any way, he announced yesterday.

Whoever told Michael that his latest prison break was going to be smooth sailing, should probably refrain from giving advice ever again.
Things took an interesting turn on Prison Break Season 5 Episode 4, with the characters being sent off in exciting directions as we approach the halfway point of this limited-run revival.
Tensions in Ogygia were at an all-time high, with Michael and his group trapped in separate cells, vying for a way out of what was soon to become a pile of rubble.
The good thing about Michael is that he has a plan for just about anything. Even with his back against the wall, he can effortlessly sway people into his line of thinking.
That's what he did with Ramal, who was ready to cut his losses with everyone and re-join his band of crooks in Isil. Sana falling has been hinted at all season long, so it was...

It took an eight year hiatus, but finally Prison Break has returned to TV! For anyone who has ever listened the Lrm TV Podcast, they would know of my love for the series. I became acquainted with Prison Break after the series had ended, but my then girlfriend now wife, who doesn't watch much TV, told me how great she thought it was. Since then, I have seen the series three times. When I heard it would be returning for a limited run, I began my countdown.
I wasn't sure what to expect with Season 5, but after the first episode, I was not disappointed. The show began with Lincoln Burrows, Michael Scofield's brother, on the run, yet again. I thought that he may have learned the error of his ways since we last saw him, but he was in debt yet again. One of the more subtle,...

2017-04-05T04:37:08-07:00'Prison Break' Debuts with a Twist
Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) is dead. Long live Kaniel Outis.
The biggest question on Prison Break fans' minds was answered in the premiere episode of the limited series revival... well, sort of. Throughout the hour, Michael's brother Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) wrestles with the news that his deceased sibling might not be deceased after all, and instead might be alive and not-so-well in a Yemen prison called Ogygia.
But how is it possible? How could Michael have survived the events of Prison Break: The Final Chapter, in which he sacrificed his own life in order to break his wife Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies) out of prison? The how and why of it all remains unanswered, but midway through the premiere, Lincoln digs up Michael's grave, and is shocked to see that there's no body inside the coffin.

[Editor’s Note: The below contains spoilers for “Prison Break” Season 5, Episode 1, “Ogygia.”]
The world of television is a very different place than it was in 2005, when America first met Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) and Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), two brothers whose inability to break out of (or into) prisons was the center of an often wildly entertaining conspiracy thriller, featuring outlandish characters and over-the-top plotting that remains memorable to date.

But while TV in general has changed, “Prison Break” really hasn’t, as seen in tonight’s season premiere. Billed as an event series, the show remains true to its goofy nature, with just a few surprises thrown into the mix. You can break out of a prison, but “Prison Break” can never escape being “Prison Break.” Here are just a few reasons why.
The action still moves fast.

It’s been nearly a decade since Prison Break last graced the small screen, but it’s finally back -- and fans are in for an action-packed treat!
Fox’s prison drama returns Tuesday for a new nine-episode installment, welcoming back series stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell as Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows, respectively. Et was with Miller on the Vancouver set, where he dished on what fans can expect in Prison Break’s latest chapter, which kicks off by addressing the elephant in the room: Michael’s presumed death.
“We find out that Michael is alive, not necessarily well,” Miller told Et last June. “When the story picks up, he is in a prison in Yemen and in a dark place physically and emotionally.”

Eight years after Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) died — well, supposedly died — the tatted former inmate of Fox River returns in an Odyssey-inspired tale where he desperately plots another prison break, this time from a Yemeni jail, in order to reunite with his brother Lincoln (Dominic Purcell), former wife Sara (Sarah Wayne Callies), and the son he’s never met. 2017 is certainly the year for highly anticipated television reboots. Not only will we be returning to David Lynch’s Twin Peaks, but we’ll also be revisiting those elusive escapees from Fox’s successful action-drama show, Prison Break. It’s a project that we seem to have been discussing for some time now, but as its April broadcast finally draws closer, we have a brand new trailer featuring a distinct lack of much-needed clues as to the premise of this reunion.
The clues are needed, because the 2009 finale of the popular show featured the death of the lead character, Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), who was also known to be suffering from a brain tumour. So, the biggest question of all, regarding this new series, is how it is that Michael can still be breathing. However this reveal is made, it would not be the first time that a beloved Prison Break...
