Thanos became one of the most well-defined villains in the whole McU in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, but there’s still an awful lot of room to explore the Mad Titan if the franchise ever returned to the character. And it sounds as if it’s not out of the question, as one Marvel exec would love to see his childhood depicted on screen.
Victoria Alonso, Evp of Production at Marvel Studios and exec producer on Captain Marvel, was asked during her Reddit Ama if there was any chance of the villain’s youth being touched on in the McU in the future. Alonso said she wasn’t sure if that’s on the card, but also made it clear that she’d personally be fascinated to see this as she believes it’s “important” to establish his origins.

The Eternals is set to introduce the immortal race of godlike beings into the McU, but Avengers: Infinity War and its recent sequel Avengers: Endgame could have got there first by exploring Thanos’ backstory on Titan. We’ve previously been told that flashbacks to the Mad Titan’s past were originally part of the script but were ultimately excised and this newly-revealed concept art gives us a feel for what these flashbacks would’ve been like, thereby providing our first look at the Eternals in the McU.
Thanos’ people are, of course, a strain of the Eternals race, with the Mad Titan himself a Deviant, one of a mutated subspecies. Concept artist Ryan Lang shared his work on Twitter recently, explaining that he was tasked with designing the group as well as a young version of Josh Brolin’s baddie for the shelved flashbacks.
“Thanos family portrait (not really),” Lang said in his caption.

Writer/Director James Gunn, known for both installments of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is trying to put the kibosh to rumors that he will produce a Howard the Duck movie for Marvel. Even though the classic comic-book character is one of Gunn’s favorites, and he made cameos in both Guardians films, Gunn tweeted:
There is No Howard the Duck movie at the present time. There are a lot of comic characters I love but I'm not making films of them all. https://t.co/IYNzo9R2hq
— James Gunn (@JamesGunn) June 28, 2017
The rumor sprouted after a fan tweeted Gunn, asking if it was true that he’s producing a feature of the Marvel character. Gunn replied:
My thoughts are I'm not sure how this lone tweet can be considered "rumors heating up." https://t.co/x42GT7egzE

A couple new pieces of concept art have surfaced that were created for James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The first piece above features a pre-teen version of Groot listening to music and playing video games. The art was created and posted by artist Anthony Francisco. The piece below is of Howard The Duck, which came from artist Ryan Lang. Both pieces are featured in the art book that was released for the film.
It was a fun unexpected surprise to see both a pre-teen Groot and Howard the Duck in the film. I doubt we'll ever see a Howard the Duck solo movie again, but I'm confident we haven't seen the last of him in the McU. ...

Cast your mind back to the moment just after the credits rolled on James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy – Xander had been saved, against all odds, and Star-Lord and Co. had shot off into the stars in search of new adventures and treasures to plunder.
But when the camera panned down to The Collector (Benicio Del Toro), battered and bruised after his run-in with an Infinity Stone, the post-credits scene revealed a surprise cameo in the form of Howard the Duck, a niche Marvel character (superhero?) well versed in the fine art of Quack Fu. It was a quirky little Easter egg buried in a film full of them, and those of you who have already seen Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will know that James Gunn managed to carve out another cameo for the irreverent Howard.

Without a doubt, the movie's visuals are one of its strongest attributes (not surprisingly, Doctor Strange is one of the 20 official contenders for an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects), but the movie could look much different. A batch of Ryan Lang's (Big Hero 6, Wreck-it Ralph) artworks has surfaced showcasing some new alternate designs. This beautiful collection contains concept art for brawls in The Mirror Dimension and Hong Kong, the astral fight in the hospital, the alternate designs for The Ancient One and Kaecilius and more! ...
