Speaking of myself.
Sergiusz Wasilewski, Cinematographer, director, producer, photographer. In 2018 he was invited to become a member of the European Academy of Science Film [EURASF].
I consider myself to be a person who constantly looks into the future. I have always been curious of new discoveries, technologies, ideas. Maybe that's why I decided to study cinematography, which is the technical and advanced side of the film industry. But as the years go by, I discover something in myself. Without a glimpse into history there is no rock from which to leap to the stars. Without the connections linking the refinements of Jacquard's loom to Charles Babbage's computer, there would be no fascinating story to tell in the multimedia design process at the Central Museum of Textiles in my home town of Lodz (Poland's Machester - the former cotton capital). I think this innate curiosity drives me to accompany young students taking risks in solar car races across Australia (Racing the Sun 2016) and Africa (Sun Quest - 2017). Recent years have allowed me to explore the possibilities of VR art more closely - I started by making a 360 film for the cinema I am designing in the basement of the Cathedral of Lodz - the history of my city and the building of the Cathedral. Later, the pandemic "helped" in porduction of a series of VR concerts of older and current Polish music stars. ( Paulina Przybysz - Manimalizm 2020, "Chlopcy z placu broni" - Naturally, "Sztywny Pal Azji" - Naturally, Filip Lato - Naturally, Jula - Naturally, 2021) These particles of information coming together, the most fascinating stories reveal the bigger picture of knowledge. Knowledge that is so needed now to break the trend of praising stupidity.
