Peacock has released the new trailer for its time-traveling rom-com, Meet Cute. In movie terms, a “meet cute” is normally associated with romantic comedies and refers to the point in the story where our two leads meet each other, usually in a cutesy scenario, which puts them on the path to falling in love with one another. The new Peacock original starring Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco and former SNL member Pete Davidson adds a new twist on the whole concept.
Meet Cute seemingly starts as a normal romantic comedy where Sheila, played by Cuoco, approaches a stranger named Gary, played by Davidson, at a bar and proceeds to flirt with him. The two are looking to have a great night out together when it is revealed Sheila is actually from the future and has time-traveled to Gary’s past to steer his personality towards being the perfect man...

“Meet Cute” follows the story of Sheila (Cuoco) and Gary (Davidson), who seemingly fall in love at first sight. In reality, Sheila has a time machine that she uses to make the pair fall for each other over and over again. When she isn’t satisfied with their “perfect night,” Sheila travels to Gary’s past to transform him into her ideal man. The romantic comedy is directed by Alex Lehmann and written by Noga Pneuli, who also serves as an executive producer.
“If I had a time machine right now I’d be torn. Do I skip ahead to our release date or do I go back and relive the joy it was making this film? Lucky for me it’s...

Peter Hsieh presented at this year’s CAAMFest his first feature film. “Drive All Night” is exactly what its title suggests. After writing several scripts and a long list of plays for the theatre, Hsieh created a thrilling and enigmatic story for the big screen.
The protagonists of “Drive All Night” are Dave and Cara. Dave is a taxi driver in a not specified American city. He works at night and seems to lead a simple, rather lonely life. His acquaintances are two other taxi drivers and the waitress at a diner. That Dave has a crash on her is evident. But something holds him back. Dave is on duty when he gets a call from a woman. She wants him to pick her up at her hotel. Cara is from the start a very brisk and straight-forward character. Therefore, she is actually exactly the opposite to Dave. Together they...

Drive All Night is a surreal thriller from director Peter Hsieh. Set to show at Cinequest later this month, the film's official trailer shows a taxi cab driver and his mysterious encounter with a young waitress. Together, they take a drive through the city, leading to strange adventures. Hsieh also wrote the script. And, the film stars: Lexy Hammonds (The Mystery of Casa Matusita), Yutaka Takeuchi ("The Defenders"), Johnny Gilligan. Now, a new poster and official trailer are available here. The new poster, much like the trailer, utilizes strange lighting. Highlighting the dreamscape nature of the film, the odd lighting also creates a visual delight. All of the central characters are shown in the graphic, with the city skyline shown in the background. This movie poster reveals only a slice of the film's potential story. The trailer also only reveals just a taste of the plotline. Characters are shown talking in a diner,...

"I need you to do something for me..." An early festival promo trailer has debuted for a mysterious indie thriller titled Drive All Night, marking the feature directorial debut of the Bay Area's Peter Hsieh, most known for his stage plays. The film follows Dave, a reclusive swing-shift taxi driver, whose night takes an unexpected turn after he picks up a mysterious passenger, Cara, a young woman hiding a dark secret. As she makes him drive through the city on a series of bizarre excursions, things get increasingly more surreal the further into the night they go. Very cool. "I wanted to develop a complex and layered narrative that became increasingly more dream-like and surreal as the story developed. My goal is to take the audience down the rabbit hole on a fever dream trip through wonderland and hopefully have them come out the other side both baffled and entertained,...
