Unicef USA has appointed star of Netflix’s adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize winning novel All the Light We Cannot See, Aria Mia Loberti, as the organization’s newest Ambassador.
The announcement comes while Loberti is advocating on Capitol Hill for equitable access to education and recognition of how the climate crisis disproportionately impacts women and girls.
Loberti, a lifelong activist, began working with Unicef USA in 2022. In addition to traveling with Unicef to Kosovo to see the organization’s work firsthand, she has supported Unicef USA’s efforts to pass the Read Act Reauthorization in the United States as well as used her platform to amplify the voices of youth changemakers.
“When I decided to explore acting, I knew that I wanted my journey to be grounded in purpose,” said Loberti. “Working with Unicef USA, having the honor of being named the newest Ambassador and being trusted with the...

“Dancing with the Stars” premiered in 2005 with a focus on teaching celebrities some fancy footwork. But along the way the professional dancers who teach and partner with those celebrity amateurs became stars in their own right. Many of them returned to the show year after year, and over a dozen have won the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy over the course of the series. Scroll down to see every single “DWTS” pro champion, listed by their number of victories.
It’s fitting that the “DWTS” pros have become fan-favorites because they’re not just dancers. They’re also trainers, choreographers and storytellers, and their chemistry with the stars fuels the show’s best routines, so they’re truly the lifeblood of the competition, especially when they bring talent and charisma out of unexpected places, from child stars to race car drivers to one male model, Nyle Dimarco, who won the Mirror...

At 17-years-old, Marvel actress Xochitl Gomez is the youngest of the final five going into the “Dancing with the Stars” finale on December 5. Can someone so young claim the Len Goodman Mirror Ball Trophy? Actually, she wouldn’t be the first teenager to win the competition. She wouldn’t even be the youngest winner in the show’s history. That would be gymnast Laurie Hernandez, who was 16 when she prevailed in season 23 back in 2016.
Teens have actually done pretty well over the years on “DWTS.” In addition to Hernandez, the Mirror Ball Trophy has gone to gymnast Shawn Johnson and nature conservationist Bindi Irwin when they were both 17, just like Gomez is now. And Charli D’Amelio won the grand prize last year when she was 18. Other celebs under 20 have made the finals, including Zendaya in season 16, Sadie Robertson in season 19, Milo Manheim in season 27, and JoJo Siwa in season 30.

Sara Bareilles and Maggie Rogers hit the stage together at the 2023 Unicef Gala held on Giving Tuesday (November 28) at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.
The two singers both performed solo and united for a duet of the song “She Used to Be Mine” from the Broadway musical Waitress, which Sara, of course, wrote the music for.
Sara also sang her songs “Orpheus” and “Brave,” while Maggie sang her hit “Light On.”
Other stars in attendance at the event were Unicef Ambassador Sofia Carson, who served as host, All the Light We Cannot See‘s Aria Mia Loberti, gymnast Laurie Hernandez, and fashion designer Christian Siriano.
The annual event “tribute to the remarkable Unicef staff around the globe who won’t stop working until every child is healthy, educated, protected and respected.”

She grew up with “beautiful Italian” meals, the smell of Bolognese sauce, and a childhood full of music. As an Italian American, Kelsea Ballerini remembers hearing “classic crooners” like Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra blasting through the stereo. Here’s what we know about this country artist.

Valentin Chmerkovskiy and celebrity partner Gabby Windey (The Bachelorette) are hours away from taking part in the Dancing With the Stars Season 31 final along with three other talented couples. The Ukrainian-born dance has won the coveted mirror ball trophy twice before — with actress Rumer Willis in Season 20 and Olympic medal-winning gymnast Laurie Hernandez in Season 23 — so there’s no doubt that Chmerkovskiy definitely has the talent to score a hattrick. Windey is not only a talented performer but she has also brings with her a legion of #BachelorNation friends. Still, this is one season where there’s no clear frontrunner. The couples that Chmerkovskiy and Windey are competing for mirror ball glory are Wayne Brady (Let’s Make a Deal) and Witney Carson, drag queen Shangela and Gleb Savchenko, and Charli D’Amelio (The D’Amelio Show) and Mark Ballas. We sat down with Chmerkovskiy to preview tonight’s show, reveal how...

As the finale for season 31 of “Dancing with the Stars” approaches this Monday night on Disney+, the last four celebrities in the competition who are gunning for the coveted Mirror Ball trophy are Wayne Brady, Charli D’Amelio, Shangela, and Gabby Windey. Each of them have proven to be a force to be reckoned with in the ballroom throughout these past nine weeks. There’s a case to be made for any one of them to come out on top. However, the one who I think we should really keep an eye out for is Windey.
Throughout the show’s long history, four “Bachelorette” stars have competed for the Mirror Ball trophy. So far two of them have won. In 2019 Hannah Brown managed to prevail in a finale that also included Lauren Alaina (fourth place), Ally Brooke (third place), and Kel Mitchell (runner-up). There was a funny moment on “Dancing with the Stars” on “Michael Buble Night” when guest judge Buble told “Bachelorette” star Gabby Windey that she was so good he wondered if she had previous dance experience. She sheepishly confirmed that she worked as a professional cheerleader in the past. It’s no secret that some of the “amateur” dancers who come onto “DWTS” are less amateur than others, and for no one is that the case more than Charli D’Amelio., who was a competitive dancer for over 10 years. Could that backfire against the TikTok star?
Any celeb has good reason to want to downplay their prior experience on “DWTS.” There have been shocking early eliminations in recent years of stars who might have been perceived to be ringers, like eighth-place Heather Morris in season 24 and 10th-place Tinashe in season 27. Other celebs with pre-established skills have gotten far in the competition but not won,...

After getting eliminated last season on “Dancing with the Stars,” Val Chmerkovskiy said that was “probably” his last season and he had no regrets about his tenure. Cut to a year later and the two-time champ is back, partnered with “The Bachelorette” star Gabby Windey, and it turns out he didn’t really want to bid adieu.
“I don’t think I ever wanted to leave. I said that it potentially could be my last season because it was a cocktail of different emotions,” Chmerkovskiy told Parade. “One emotion was, obviously, disappointment. That interview came right after I was eliminated last season. But mostly it came from just emotionally being exhausted. I generally put my heart and soul into this project, I care about it immensely. I care about dance. Broadly speaking I care about being a good teacher and being a good ambassador of dance. But, also, I care about the show.

“Dancing with the Stars” judge Derek Hough holds the record for the most championships among professional dancers. He won the Mirror Ball Trophy six times over the course of his run on the show. That’s even more remarkable when you consider that no other pro dancer on the show has ever won more than two. It’s unlikely that anyone will come close to that record before the show ultimately runs its course — whenever that will be — but this season there are multiple double winners who could finally achieve that elusive hat trick.

Val Chmerkovskiy may not be hanging up his “Dancing with the Stars” shoes yet. Though the two-time champ said in the fall that Season 30 was “probably” his last one, you might just see him when Season 31 launches on Disney+ later this year, according to his wife and fellow pro Jenna Johnson.
“So, the funny thing is we actually don’t know if we’re coming back until right before the season [starts]. But yes, I know that Val is definitely excited to come back for another season and I think that he’s in the best shape of his life right now. Chmerkovskiy, who won Mirrorball trophies with Rumer Willis and Laurie Hernandez, hinted at his departure following his and partner Olivia Jade‘s elimination in November.

Fox’s “Name That Tune” is back Tuesday night, but just because the new season features some celebrity contestants from the music world, doesn’t mean they are any better at guessing what song the band is playing snippets of.
“It’s anyone’s game,” “Name That Tune” host Jane Krakowski told TheWrap. “You can’t pre-guess who’s going to be good at the game.”

While Val Chmerkovskiy says he’s hanging up his “Dancing with the Stars” shoes after Season 30, his wife Jenna Johnson is definitely coming back, win or lose Monday night.
“I will for sure be back here,” Johnson told “Entertainment Tonight.” “It will be different [without him], but I think it would be also awesome. I love being able to do different projects from each other that we can support and help each other thrive on. So I know he would be really invested in my season, just like he is now. But I’m not done dancing with my hubby on that floor yet. Not done yet.”
Johnson and JoJo Siwa will vie to become the first same-sex couple to win the Mirrorball trophy on Monday’s finale against Amanda Kloots and Alan Bersten, Cody Rigsby and Cheryl Burke, and Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach. The finale comes two weeks after what...

Dancing With The Stars pro Val Chmerkovskiy might be ready to hang up his dancing shoes. Chmerkovskiy and his celebrity dance partner Olivia Jade were recently eliminated from the long-running ABC competition series, and that could be the last time we see the two-time Mirror Ball champion on the show. “I’ve always been very clear about coming back on the show,” Chmerkovskiy told Entertainment Tonight. “I love the show. I love being on it. I am so grateful for the opportunity, is this my last season? Probably. Probably.” He went on to say, “I have no regrets about my tenure on the show. I have no regrets about the season. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner to end it with.” Chmerkovskiy has previously won Dancing With The Stars twice, first with actress Rumer Willis in 2015 and then again in 2016 with Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez. Despite his...

Gymnast Sunisa Lee won the individual all-around competition in Tokyo on Tuesday, becoming the first Asian-American Olympic all-around champion ever.
Lee hails from St. Paul, Minnesota and is of Hmong descent. Last Tuesday, Lee helped propel Team USA gymnastics to a silver medal, stepping in to compete in the floor event for Simone Biles, after she pulled herself out of competition to focus on her mental health.
Lee secured the individual gold with a score of 57.433, 0.135 points ahead of Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade, despite trailing her initially. It was Lee’s turn on the uneven bars that helped her secure the win, as she notched a 15.3, which put her only 0.066 behind Andrade. It was Lee’s beam routine — during which former Team USA gymnast Laurie Hernandez noted that Lee threw a stunt that Hernandez would never try “with my own free will” for how terrifying it is — that moved her into first place.

Updated, 8:05 Am: Russia won the Women’s Gymnastics Team Final at the Toyko Olympics on Tuesday, scooping the gold medal ahead of favored Team USA, who lost star Simone Biles, the five-time world champion and reigning Olympic all-around champion. The result ends a decade of dominance in the event for the American team, which won gold in 2012 and 2016.
Great Britain took the bronze, its first medal in the competition since 1928, finishing narrowly ahead of Italy.
Biles competed in the first event, the vault, scoring a 13.766, the lowest of her Olympics career. After the attempt she was seeing huddling with her trainer and left the floor shortly after. Cameras captured her telling her U.S. teammates that they would be fine without her.
