To celebrate the upcoming broadcast of My Adventures With Superman's season 2 premiere, Adult Swim and Toonami have released a new clip from the first episode, which sees Superman face off against Amanda Waller, Deathstroke, Atomic Skull, and some Task Force X foot soldiers.
In particular, the video shows the terrible schemes Waller is willing to enact in order to protect the planet from Superman and other possible Kryptonian invaders.
While Waller's actions are definitely inexcusable, they might ultimately prove to be necessary as the season 1 finale hints that Spoiler: [General Zod] will soon return in season 2 to attack the Earth.

Last week, Tracy Chapman made country music history by becoming the first Black woman to be the sole songwriter of a Number One country hit when Luke Combs’ cover of her 1988 song “Fast Car” topped the charts.
While celebratory — “I never expected to find myself on the country charts, but I’m honored to be there,” Chapman said — the milestone was also a stark reminder of the historical precarity and lack of opportunities for Black women as songwriters in Nashville: Chapman is just one of a small group of Black...

Long-time Superman fans may find the first minutes of My Adventures With Superman a bit off-putting. The soft, watercolor backgrounds, the sharp angles on the character designs, and the stuttered animation reveal the series’ debt to anime. As a young Clark Kent tries in vain to free his kite from a tree in his front yard, viewers will notice more similarities to My Hero Academia or Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba than to the Fleischer Bros. cartoons of the 1940s.
Suddenly, Clark notices a car spinning out of control, its driver distracted by the fussy child in the back seat. Without a second thought, Clark rushes to the car, stopping the vehicle before it slams into a tree. Clark stares at his hands in confusion, wondering how he suddenly gained such speed and strength. But we viewers know the answer: this is Superman, the Man of Steel we know and love.

New podcasts are on the decline, according to numbers published by data provider Chartr.
Analysts of international production figures have revealed that 2022 saw 219,00 podcasts making their debut – a sharp decline on the year before, when 729,000 new titles were released. This was already down on 2020 – peak pandemic lockdown – which saw the launch of 1,109,000 new podcasts.
Kate Taylor, the founder of Feast Collective network supporting freelance podcasters, told the UK’’s Guardian:
“It feels like we’re in that ‘difficult second album’ moment now, and of course there’s a lot to worry about. I would say sponsorship is harder to find now and that getting investors to understand the amount needed to do something properly is also harder.”
To put things in perspective, the Guardian notes that an estimated three million podcasts are currently available across the world, mostly created in America and Brazil.
Established titles are meanwhile continuing to create new content,...

Rita Wilson sings with Willie Nelson, Smokey Robinson, Tim McGraw, Vince Gill and more on her latest album Rita Wilson Now & Forever: Duets. Released in late September, the record finds the singer-actress interpreting some of her favorite songs of the Seventies, like the Bee Gees’ “Massachusetts,” Paul Simon’s “Slip Slidin’ Away,” and Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway’s “Where Is the Love.” Wilson is also re-creating the songs live onstage during a two-week residency at New York City’s Café Carlyle that kicked off earlier this week.
