Espresso Media International has picked up international rights to the documentary series “Balance: A Perimenopause Journey,” executive produced by Alyssa Milano and directed by Dallas-based monk-filmmakers Sadhvi Siddhali Shree and Sadhvi Anubhuti, ahead of this year’s MipTV.
Produced by Siddhali Shree and Anubhuti’s Texas-based non-profit production organization Siddhayatan Tirth Productions, the series explores the challenges women face when going through perimenopause, or the transition to menopause.
The four-part series, currently in production, “brings this vital issue to an underserved audience: women facing perimenopause at any age, as well as a secondary market of men who witness loved ones going through difficult changes,” Espresso Media stated.

"Everybody's looking for someone else to do it, but we gotta be the change that we want to see." An official trailer is out for a documentary film titled For The Animals, made by the filmmakers Sadhvi Siddhali Shree & Sadhvi Anubhuti, both Jain monks and animal activists themselves. It will be out in select theaters around the US in July and August. With catastrophic numbers of stray dogs roaming the streets of Houston TX, twin activists and philanthropists Tena Lundquist Faust and Tama Lundquist lead the charge and take matters into their own hands to save the animals they love. They run an organization called Houston PetSet. As more and more strays plague the city causing a public health crisis and attacking its residents, the sisters take to the streets for a hands-on approach. The film is made with the support of human and animal rights activist Alyssa Milano as an Executive Producer.

A24’s SXSW opener Everything Everywhere All At Once, Bleecker Street’s Infinite Storm and Sony Pictures Classics’ Mothering Sunday offer something that’s been rare of late at the specialty box office, fresh content and choice.
They’re in a market with only one new studio wide release, Paramount’s The Lost City with Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock. And if that film does okay it’s a nice win for everyone, said a specialty distribution executive, since it appeals to an older and female demo that’s been hard to win back to theaters. He’s got fingers crossed that the variant of the Omicron variant won’t make a new dent in the very slowly reviving market for non-superhero films. He and others have noted week after week that no specialty recovery is really possible in any case without the consistent flow of new content that we’re just starting to see.
