For the second week of September, we don’t have a ton of horror and sci-fi headed home on Blu-ray and DVD, but there are a few releases genre fans are definitely going to want to pick up. This Tuesday’s biggest release is the new Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collection in 4K from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, which includes the uncut version of Psycho, and Psycho is also getting its own stand alone release for its 60th anniversary as well.
Arrow Video has put together a Limited Edition set for Graveyards of Honor which features both filmic versions, and both Saw and Candyman are getting a re-release too. Other titles arriving on September 8th include A Deadly Legend and Evil Boy.

If it doesn't sound that exciting, this trailer doesn't make it look any better, it actually makes it look worse. The indie horror film stars Kristen Anne Ferraro as Joan, with Corbin Bernsen, Judd Hirsch, Lori Petty, Steven Hauck, Summer Crockett Moore, and Jeffrey Doornbos. This just looks like a bunch of horror ideas thrown into a big witch's brew pot without any semblance of style or storytelling. They can't all be winners. Here's the official trailer (+ posters) for Pamela Moriarty's A Deadly Legend, direct from YouTube: Joan Huntar,...

She Came from the Woods is a brand-new short film written, directed, and produced by The Bloomquist Brothers (Erik and Carson); whose most-recent short, Ghost Tour, is currently on Crypt TV, and whose hard-boiled short film, The Cobblestone Corridor, we reviewed way back in 2015….
After a brief introduction, with the camp counselors all sitting round a campfire telling a scary story a la Are You Afraid of the Dark?, She Came From the Woods wastes no time getting to the horrific action. But with a running time of just over 12 minutes, there’s not that much time to begin with!
The set up is brief. There’s an urban legend that says you will call the evil spirt of Esther – a witch who...
