Margarita Simonova is a Lithuanian ballerina dancing in the Polish National Ballet. In Russia, she is known as the leading woman in the feature film Bolshoy (2017).
She was born in the USSR, in Lithuanian village of Snechkus (now - the city of Visaginas) in the family of a nuclear engineer. When the girl was four years old, her parents sent her to acrobatics school, but at the age of ten she had some health problems, because of which she had to finish with acrobatics. After a while, the girl began to study in a ballet studio, and then, on the recommendation of her teacher, she entered the Vilnius Ballet School at the National Art Gymnasium. During her studies at the ballet school, she won the International Competition of Young Artists in the city of Mura (Sweden), received a diploma of the first degree of the International Competition of Young Artists in Grasse (France).
In 2009, Simonova was accepted into the troupe of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater, where she danced for a year. Then she moved to Poland and since the 2010/2011 season she has been dancing at the Bolshoy Theater in Warsaw, joining the troupe of the Polish National Ballet. Performs parts of both classical and modern repertoire.
