The 2024 Tribeca Festival, which unveiled its film slate Wednesday, is out with its television lineup of world premieres of new and returning programs from networks and streamers.
The 23rd edition, which unspool June 5-16, features 11 series premieres and two first looks at returning classics. World premieres include Hulu’s Mastermind: To Think Like A Killer, executive produced by Dakota Fanning and Elle Fanning, an in-depth exploration of Dr. Anne Burgess’ journey in closing some of America’s most infamous criminal cases; Hollywood Black, executive produced by Justin Simien, an examination of the Black experience in Hollywood featuring conversations with Issa Rae, Lena Waithe, Ryan Coogler, and Ava DuVernay; and Apple TV+’s Presumed Innocent, a legal thriller starring and executive produced by Jake Gyllenhaal, hailing from David E. Kelley and executive producer J.J. Abrams, also with Ruth Negga and Peter Sarsgaard.

Presented in partnership with Okx and City National Bank, the feature captures fashion designer von Furstenberg’s impact as a feminist creative icon. Tribeca alumni Trish Dalton and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy direct.

The Tribeca Festival on Tuesday announced its lineup of short narrative, documentary and animated films, as well as music videos, across 12 programs.
Today’s lineup for the festival, taking place this year from June 7-18, includes 62 shorts in competition, eight music videos and six special screening shorts, from a total of 91 filmmakers across 25 countries. The program, which was curated this year from a record-breaking 8,096 total submissions, includes 48 world premieres, three international premieres, two North American premieres, one U.S. premiere, and 22 New York premieres, with six alumni of festivals past to return this time around. Themes highlighted across the lineup include love, family relationships, LGBTQ+ stories, “Expressions of Black Freedom,” Latin America and resilience, to name a few.

Five Israeli projects won Pitch Point awards at the ceremony.
Zetjune, the upcoming second feature from Luzzu director Alex Camilleri, has won the Sam Spiegel International Film Lab Grand Prize on Saturday (July 23), at a joint ceremony in which Jerusalem Industry Days announced its Pitch Point winners.
Featuring real artists from the Maltese folk scene, musical Zejtune follows a 30-year-old woman whose life is reinvigorated by an encounter with an elderly troubadour.

2022 Tribeca Film Festival Lineup Includes Ray Romano’s Directorial Debut and Jon Hamm Office Satire
The 2022 Tribeca Festival will feature world premieres of Ray Romano’s directorial debut “Somewhere in Queens” and “Corner Office,” a workplace satire starring Jon Hamm and Danny Pudi, among many others.
Tribeca announced on Tuesday its full lineup of features and shorts, including documentaries and animated films. In all, 110 feature films will play at the festival from 151 filmmakers across 40 countries, with 88 being world premieres.
Romano also stars in his film “Somewhere in Queens” alongside Laurie Metcalf, Tony Lo Bianco, Sebastian Maniscalco and Jennifer Esposito. The film is about an Italian-American dad from Queens who gets increasingly involved in ensuring his son’s high school basketball success. “Corner Office” is directed by Joachim Back and stars Hamm as a straight-laced employee who retreats to a blissfully empty corner office to get away from his lackluster colleagues, only to find that his move upsets them immensely.

The Tribeca Film Festival for 2021 has unveiled its full lineup of features on Tuesday, and among them are two documentaries in the Spotlight section on musician Rick James and TV personality Anthony Bourdain.
Those two films are just some of the highlights on a lineup that includes 66 films from 81 filmmakers from 23 different countries and 56 world premieres. It also features a lineup that’s 60% female, Bipoc and LGBTQ+ filmmakers.
This year’s Tribeca Festival is the 20th anniversary edition after last year’s event could not be in-person. And this year’s festival will return to live, in-person events at outdoor venues across all New York City boroughs. And many of the films will also be available for U.S. audiences to view online the day after they premiere in person through the Tribeca at Home virtual hub. The festival runs June 9-20.

The Tribeca Film Festival has confirmed its annual springtime edition will run from April 15 to 26.
The timing is on the early side for the festival. Many of its 18 previous editions have started in late-April and finished in the first couple of days in May.
Initially founded in the aftermath of the September 11 terrorist attacks, the festival has grown beyond its film roots to encompass TV, virtual reality, digital content, music, gaming and other realms. Many noted subsets of New York, including the worlds of fashion, art, design, technology, advertising and finance are also well-represented during the event.
Submissions for the 2020 Festival will open on August 19 via Tribeca’s website or FilmFreeway for feature and short films; episodic and online storytelling; virtual and immersive; and branded entertainment.

Trimmed down by 20%, the festival received a record number 8,700 submissions, of which 3,362 were features – and includes 32 films in competition comprising 12 documentaries, 10 Us narratives and 10 international narratives. Films in competition will compete for cash prizes totalling $160,000.
Spotlight Narrative section features 15 fiction films, while Spotlight Documentary includes 16 non-fiction films. Five fiction and one documentary film play in Midnight.
