Scottish filmmaker. Best known for BBC Scotland TV series "Insiders Guide" and stoma documentary "The Bear Necessity". Gow works primarily as a director and videographer. She began her career as a regular contributor for BBC The Social, creating various online videos and mini-documentaries for their series "Into It".
First festival success came aged only seventeen, as part of the Edinburgh International Film Festival's "Shorts Challenge" winning the award for Best Use of Theme for her short "Contrast". She then received funding for documentary "The Bear Necessity" via FIND Scotland, which has been selected for 18 screenings and film festivals around the world. The film received awards for both "Best Film" and "Best Documentary" as part of the Scottish Youth Film Festival, and was selected for Lift-Off's Documentary Showcase at Pinewood Studios. Her queer short "Stum (Tongue-Tied)", shot in Stavanger, Norway was a social media success 900k views on YouTube in collaboration with German queer short film channel Queerblick, and was also selected for the official selection of Academy Award qualifying festival Out On Film.
