For most of ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ development, the only thing we’ve heard about the movie was troubling updates. The movie underwent massive reshoots due to unsatisfactory action scenes and poor chemistry between the love interest and the lead (according to rumors).
Now during the 2024 CinemaCon, footage of the movie was shown, showcasing Sam Wilson as Captain America tasked with recreating the Avengers, going up against Harrison’s Ford Thunderbolt Ross, and we couldn’t be more excited about the movie.
The clip reveals Sam Wilson meeting President Thunderbolt Ross at the White House, where Ross proposes reuniting the Avengers under a new Captain America. However, there are hints of Ross having ulterior motives. Chaos erupts during a meeting when a mysterious villain takes control, leading to action-packed scenes including Sam defending himself against Secret Service agents. Marvel’s Thunderbolts is bringing a fresh narrative to the table, with David Harbour’s Red Guardian and Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova at the center of its intriguing storyline. Harbour, in a recent interview with ScreenRant, shed light on the complex dynamics between these two characters.
He revealed that the film delves into the characters’ shared history, particularly their time as spies in the Midwest. This aspect of their past plays a significant role in the movie, adding depth to their relationship. For instance, it mirrors the depth seen in the ‘Black Widow’ film, notably in the scene featuring the song “American Pie.”
What stands out in Harbour’s description is the nuanced relationship between Red Guardian and Yelena. Despite Yelena’s apparent disdain for him, she relies on him in ways that she might not fully understand. This reflects the often complicated nature of real-life relationships, where the...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is currently in its Multiversal phase, and the upcoming projects promise a plethora of exciting content. A noteworthy aspect of these upcoming endeavors is the increased emphasis on various superhero teams. While fans have predominantly followed the Avengers’ adventures, a shift is imminent with the inclusion of X-Men, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and Midnight Sons, all either confirmed or rumored in the MCU.
Leaked information from sources like MyTimeToShine and previously DanielPRK suggests that Marvel Studios initially intended to introduce another superhero team called the Daughters of Liberty. A project dedicated to an all-female superhero team was in the works, but strikes disrupted the development schedule, casting uncertainty over several projects.

Had Michael Cimino not killed New Hollywood with the financial disaster that was Heaven’s Gate, he might have eventually unmasked the movement anyway, exposing this supposedly new style of filmmaking as nothing more than the old way with a dirtier face. His debut feature, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, illustrates this in spades: One of the many intended cash-ins on Easy Rider’s success, the film reverses the nature of other counterculture road movies. Though it begins with sweeping, Fordian vistas and ends in muted, existential despair, the film is less a deconstruction of Americana by the intrusion of the real than a study of human interaction that reinforces, if tragically, its classical formalism and iconography.
As such, the film’s pairing of old and young functions not as a commentary on the generation gap or the trading of an antiquated set of values for a newer one, but as a means of drawing out their parallels.

Los Angeles, July 2 (Ians) Hollywood actor Anthony Mackie shared that he was very nervous to shoot opposite Harrison Ford on their first day of filming ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ that he forgot the script.
Marvel’s upcoming fourth ‘Captain America’ movie finds Mackie’s Sam Wilson stepping into the title role for the first time in a feature film, reports Variety.
Ford is a new addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, replacing the late William Hurt as Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross.
“The first day was so intimidating,” Mackie told Inverse. “I was so fucking nervous I couldn’t remember my lines. He’s Harrison f****** Ford. There is this aura about him. But he dispels that really quickly because he’s such a cool guy. He’s everything a movie star should be. He would say, ‘Let’s shoot this piece of shit.’ And everybody was like, ‘Yeah, let’s...

Way back when, during the production of the first “Star Wars,” Harrison Ford once joked to director George Lucas, “George, you can type this shit, but you can’t say it!”’
“Of course, that’s the year he gets nominated for an Oscar for Best Screenplay [for ‘Star Wars’ itself]. What do I know, right?” Ford said during an AFI tribute to Lucas in 2005.
For Malcolm Spellman, Dalan Musson, and Julius Onah, the writers currently credited on “Captain America: Brave New World,” they can only hope history repeats itself.
During an interview with Inverse, “Captain America” star Anthony Mackie relayed an amusing anecdote about working with Ford on the upcoming Marvel blockbuster. In the new film, due out in July 2024, Ford steps in to play Thunderbolt Ross following the offscreen death of original Thunderbolt actor William Hurt. Marvel Studios announced Tuesday morning via its Twitter account that the fourth Captain America installment — and the first to feature star Anthony Mackie as the lead — is now called Brave New World.
The news came alongside a behind-the-scenes photo of stars Mackie and Harrison Ford. Last July, the studio announced the film was originally subtitled New World Order. The release date has been set for May 3, 2024.

With just a single, relaxed, behind-the-scenes pic posted on Instagram by Anthony Mackie, everything changes for Captain America’s next big-screen MCU outing. Formerly known as New World Order, the fourth Cap movie will now proudly bear the title Brave New World, as shown on the back of the chairs in Mackie’s on-set snap. At first glance it’s a superficial change, but it’s probably a sensible idea to move away from a phrase thrown around by George Bush Sr in the ‘90s and embrace something a little more Shakespearean.
‘O brave new world, that has such people in’t.’ So says Miranda in The Tempest. She was, obviously enough, not talking about the cast of Cap 4, but if she had been, she wouldn’t have been wrong. As Mackie’s photo attests, the film includes the not inconsiderable presence of Harrison Ford as General Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross...

There are two major, notable exterior locations in Richard Marquand's 1983 sci-fi romp "Return of the Jedi." In the early scenes of the film, the dashing pilot Han Solo (Harrison Ford) must be rescued from a crime lord's desert palace where he has been frozen in stasis and hung on the wall as a trophy. The scene's desert exteriors were shot in Arizona, in a part of the desert called Buttercup Valley. In the climax of the desert scenes, a full-size floating skiff -- the pleasure barge of the evil Jabba the Hutt -- was blown up. To this day, one can visit the filming site and potentially find pieces of the barge, or of the Sarlacc, the film's pit-like desert monster.
The other notable location was the massive redwood forests located in Northern California. The "Jedi" locations were notable, as it was the first time a "Star Wars" movie...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is the biggest and most successful franchise in pop culture history. Fans and critics alike have delighted at what Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has pulled off, turning a popular film series into a sprawling saga spanning the galaxy, the time-space continuum, and now multiple dimensions. While it may be tempting to attribute the McU's triumph to the novelty of basing a franchise on such an expansive and interconnected universe, that's only part of what keeps audiences coming back for every new film and TV show. Filled with talented actors, engaging stories, humor, and breathtaking fight scenes, nearly every chapter in the MCU has been a crowd-pleaser.
However, as entertaining as the MCU is, it's not without its flaws. Because of the ever-growing nature of the overarching story, there are bound to be plot holes and narrative threads that fall by the wayside. Some of these...

Credit: The Incredible Hulk A very underrated character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe is General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, played so brilliantly by the late William Hurt. Some fans may have forgotten, but he was actually one of the first MCU characters. This character debuted in the 2008 The Incredible Hulk movie with Edward Norton. As we MCU fans know by now, it only took one Marvel movie for Norton to be replaced by Mark Ruffalo. All of that drama that occurred behind the scenes is enough to turn into a short documentary, and that will sadly be the legacy of

Even after half of all living things are snapped out of and back into existence, the Marvel Cinematic Universe can’t seem to escape the ramifications of Captain America: Civil War and the Sokovia Accords. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law may have shown us that the Accords have been repealed in a post-blip world, but that doesn’t mean that we’re through seeing the effects of them on the geopolitical sphere of the MCU.

We have confirmed that tracking service Nrg is eyeing a 175 million start for Disney/Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. That total would give it the second-best opening of 2022 after Disney/Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which debuted to 187.4M. Last year’s Marvel sequel, Spider-Man: No Way Home, owns the biggest domestic opening of the pandemic at 260M, and second best ever in the history of box office.

In a light and lively Q&a moderated by actress/DC’s Stargirl director Lea Thompson and featuring cast members Brec Bassinger, Amy Smart, Yvette Monreal, Anjelika Washington and Cameron Gellman, Johns responded to much raving about the season finale’s epic group fight — which included Hourman sparing Solomon Grundy’s life — by saying, “I’m excited for people to see more of Grundy. He’s not gone just yet. [There’s a] cool story idea for Grundy coming up.

Those looking for an alternative to the 118 feature films unspooling at the ongoing Sundance Film Festival will be wise to check out Slamdance, which runs concurrently to Sundance in Park City, Utah, and launches Friday, January 24. One standout among Slamdance’s narrative features is “Thunderbolt in Mine Eye,” executive-produced by unstoppable indie duo Mark and Jay Duplass, as part of their ongoing efforts to bolster new voices via their Hometown Heroes partnership. Funded via Seed&Spark, this is the first film to come out of the Duplass brothers’ new collaboration, and IndieWire has the exclusive first trailer below.
Directed by Sarah Sherman and Zachary Ray Sherman, “Thunderbolt in Mine Eye” follows a brainy 14-year-old who embarks on the awkward journey of first love — with her brother’s best friend! — all the while exploring her budding feminism at her high school. “’Thunderbolt’ has no business being as sweet, smart, and accomplished as it is.
