Through two episodes, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live has proven to be just what the long-running zombie franchise needed to recalibrate.
A big part of the show’s success is its ability to fill in the gaps about what happened to Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) after they departed the main series several years ago.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Season 1, Episode 2, was a Michonne-centric hour, telling us about her journey to reunite with the man she’s held on to hope has been alive for so many years.
Early into her mission, she comes across Nat, played by Matthew Jeffers, who crafts the incredible weapons and armor she’s seen with during an epilogue of the main series.
Just as their mission was gathering steam, they found themselves in danger when the Crm dropped gas from a helicopter, and ultimately, it claimed the...

Taylor Swift is many things: a pop sensation, producer, actor, songwriter, football fan, and more. Do you know what she’s not? T-Swift is not the mysterious author behind the Argylle novel that inspired Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming spy thriller for Apple. Rumors about Tay-Tay being the author “Elly Conway,” a pseudonym for the writer whose manuscript paved the way for the reported 200 million dollar deal for the film rights, have been swirling on social media for months.
Argylle stars Bryce Dallas Howard as Elly Conway, a reclusive author of a series of best-selling espionage novels whose idea of bliss is a night at home with her computer and her cat, Alfie. But when the plots of Elly’s fictional books — which center on secret agent Argylle (Henry Cavill) and his mission to unravel a global spy syndicate — begin to mirror the covert actions of a real-life spy organization, quiet...

We’re still a month out from the release of Argylle, but director Matthew Vaughn already has a few sequels in mind.
Of course, this all depends on how Argylle is received, but Vaughn told Total Film that he has the next two sequels mapped out. “Book one is about: how did Argylle become a spy? That will be the next film,” Vaughn said. “And then Argylle 2 is – I don’t want to give it all away, but there’s the young Argylle, and that becomes Henry, because Henry loves the idea of doing a proper Argylle movie as well.” Once the mysteries of Argylle are fully revealed, we might have a better idea of what these sequels could be, but if no one turns up for the first movie, it could remain buried. “Everybody complains there’s not enough original stuff, but it’s because they don’t go see it,...

Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle seems to be full of mysteries, but the movie has all the makings of a highly entertaining spy caper, albeit with something of a meta-twist. Henry Cavill stars as Agent Argylle, a fictional character created by author Elly Conway (Bryce Dallas Howard), but in the movie’s first major action sequence, she envisions Argylle saving her, with his image flashing back and forth with her actual protector, Aiden Wilde (Sam Rockwell).
Henry Cavill spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the action sequence, which required both actors to film the entirety of the scene so that director Matthew Vaughn could intercut between the two at will.
“Sam and I were watching each other and just trying to make sure that we had a similarity of movements,” Cavill said. “Certain movements worked better for him, so I would mimic those, and then different movements in other places worked better for me,...

Combining the rounded, comical visuals of Aardman and Wes Anderson with the emotional density of Charlie Kaufman, Ryan Oligmueller’s graduate short Creature Comfort is a rich stop motion treat. The story follows a lonely creature, who spends their time wandering through the woods looking for clues about who they may have been in a past life with each secret they uncover sparking a vision of a human who is facing tough mental struggles. Don’t be blindsided by the intricately crafted cute visuals, Oligmueller’s work highlights how animation can be a powerful tool in conveying the melancholy of the human condition. With the short recently arriving online, Dn caught up with Oligmueller to go over the time-intensive journey of making it, the collaborators he brought on board to create the distinctive character models, and the overwhelming feeling of seeing those first few frames come to life.

Days of Our Lives is two years away from its 60th anniversary!
According to Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 11-06-23, this year's celebration will include John and Marlena celebrating their special day and Maggie reminiscing about Victor.
There's also plenty of drama ahead, thanks to someone stabbing Li in the back and Sloan's desperation for a baby.
If you're not a Jarlena fan, you might not be thrilled with this anniversary celebration. Still, John and Marlena are some of the longest-running characters on the series, and their anniversary falls on the same day as the show's.
Plus, there's not enough romance in Salem these days. John and Marlena will share some sexy time, but they will also bring some real romance -- not the race to the bedroom everyone else seems to engage in.

Words cannot even express how excited we are to finally have a female driven spy film hit the big screen and coming from the mind of director Matthew Vaughn makes “Argylle” a win/win for sure! This film is sure to blur the lines of reality, but also be chock full of razor-sharp wit making it a true thriller in the spy film genre.
In the film, Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World franchise) is Elly Conway, the reclusive author of a series of best-selling espionage novels, whose idea of bliss is a night at home with her computer and her cat, Alfie. Kill List star Neil Maskell delivers an astounding performance in the 2021 low budget movie Bull, which has been a smash hit on streaming since Netflix acquired it. The bloody crime thriller, directed by Paul Andrew Williams, follows Maskell’s vicious enforcer as he returns to his old stomping ground ten years after some deadly and mysterious events have transpired between him and his fellow gang members.
The gang, headed up by Bull’s horrible father-in-law, Norm (David Hayman), are still kicking around – but not for long. Bull is determined to mete out vengeance upon those who he believes double-crossed him, but they can’t quite believe he’s even there, as they seem certain it’s impossible.
What Happens In Bull?
Bull begins with a small group of men burying something at dawn in a field, then shifts forward a decade in time, as we see Bull begin his killing spree.

Stories revolving around giant mechanical robots or mechs have existed since the earliest of sci-fi classics, most notably in H.G. Wells’ War of the Worlds, where Martians used mechanical ‘Tripods’ to lay waste to humanity. In later years, Japan’s obsession with mechs imparted more complex dynamics to the genre, which evolved into narratives concerning the relationship between human beings and sentient robots, culminating in some particular Gundam series and Transformers.
Netflix’s latest release, Mech Cadets, an adaptation of Greg Pak and Takeshi Miyazawa’s Mech Cadets Yu, combines some of the best mech series out there, like Neon Genesis Evangelion and Pacific Rim, to present a vibrant, fresh take on the mech genre. While the lively 3D animation might hook some of the younger generation onto the series, for veteran fans of the genre, it fails to offer anything new or exceptional that hasn’t been done already.

Complete and utter isolation can break the strongest of human minds, especially when coupled with the feeling of being boxed in without the choice to freely leave. One does not have to be secluded on their own to experience debilitating cabin fever, as the presence of others can breed feelings of paranoia and distrust, making the phenomenon highly contagious. At first, this appears to be the crux of "The Lodge," in which Grace (Riley Keough) and two children find themselves trapped in a wintry cabin in the middle of nowhere, with every basic necessity inexplicably vanishing into thin air. As they experience strange and unsettling events over time, psychosis sets in, intensifying the sense of derealization that permeates throughout the film. Just when things teeter over the edge, unsavory revelations undercut the very sense of reality (or unreality) that the film builds itself on.

Has Abe's abduction storyline gone on too long?
Our TV Fanatic, Jack, is joined by Horizon and Andy from MyHourglass, a Days of Our Lives fan forum, to debate Sloan being pregnant, Li and Melinda's blind date, if Chad or Alex was more obnoxious and more!
Plus, which love triangles have you loved or hated? Read on to see which ones our round table team chose...
Love triangles are a soap staple, but has there ever been a triangle story you've enjoyed? Also, do you have a most hated love triangle in Salem?
Horizon: Funky triangles like Johnny, Chanel, and Allie, along with Brady, Philp, and Chloe, haven't been entertaining at all. And any triangle involving Eric and Nicole is dead on arrival. Although I must say, I like it when Sloan and Nicole go at it like alley cats when it comes to Eric.
I suppose the quirkier triangles are preferable.

Lake Bell has taken a creative dip in the canned wine business.
The multi-hyphenate has partnered with Nomadica to write, direct and produce the brand’s first creative campaign for its new Orange offering, and has joined the Los Angeles-based team to serve as creative advisor.
Nomadica’s Orange is described as a “skin contact white wine,” meaning the skin of the grapes remain in contact with their juice during fermentation. This particular blend mixes chardonnay, Grüner Veltliner and Albariño grapes with tropical notes including pineapple and jackfruit and is complemented by fragrances of orange blossom and dried chamomile flowers. The can boasts artwork titled “Plant Melody” by visual artist Yadi Liu.

There’s something to fall head-over-heels for about daring reimaginations of formidable classics—the deceitfully “simpler” the source, the more pressure on the adaptation to bring out its colors. Isn’t it practically an inexplicable branch of evolution that even those of us not thoroughly familiar with Georges Bizet’s opera and Prosper Mérrimée’s prose of the same name can immediately associate the name Carmen with the color red? Red is what Jörg Widmer smears on each of his symbolism-soaked frames that speak the unspoken about the nymph-like poem manifested as an immigrant woman. And for the faithful portrayal of the odd fairytale lover worthy of beholding her with the eyes that betray his pain, Benjamin Millepied entrusts the reins to Nicholas Britell’s haunting score, which is as much a protagonist as Carmen and Aiden.

The premise is simple; it promises a comical, stranger-than-fiction thrill-ride. Late at night, an elderly Vietnamese cab driver begrudgingly agrees to a routine pickup where he’s taken hostage at gunpoint by three recently escaped Orange County convicts. Based on Paul Kix’s similarly titled GQ story, The Accidental Getaway Driver certainly begins at a tense pace, but over the course of a few days this enervating scenario shifts into a lower gear, becoming a scattered meditation on masculinity that wrings out just enough emotional truth to appease its multi-genre approach.
Against the clock, these three outlaws––Tây (Dustin Nguyen), Aden (Dali Benssalah) and Eddie (Phi Vu)––start crossing off the items on their escape-plan checklist: they get haircuts, make calls, stop at Wal-Mart, and demand obedience from Long (Hiep Tran Nghia), their involuntary wheelman attempting to stay calm while navigating Little Saigon under extreme pressure. When Aiden and Eddie...

Kim Kardashian looked back at it in a nostalgic Instagram post.
The reality star posed for a selfie in the reflection of a window at a luxe poolside. On her knees, bum to the camera, Kardashian turned to look over her shoulder at her butt in an itty bitty silver thong bikini from Skims. Her hair was its signature platinum blonde and she appeared to be makeup free at the tropical location.

She captioned the photo “Looking back at ‘22” with a winky face emoji. The mom of four certainly had a full year to look back on.
The beginning of the year was marked by the (almost) newly single Kardashian’s relationship with comedian Pete Davidson. In February, their relationship was confirmed when Davidson referred to her as his “girlfriend” in an interview.

I have a massive love/hate relationship with the Dying Light franchise. I’m intrigued by the concept of a safe-day, dangerous-night zombie game where the focus is to survive using what you find and how you traverse the world. I also respect the amount of support the games receive (the first Dying Light received support all the way to this year). The games have a wonderful parkour system that rivals something along the lines of Mirror’s Edge but always seem attached to mundane and monotonous experiences.
Dying Light 2 was a prime example of this. A game bogged down by a lengthy tutorial, boring challenges and a world I felt little investment in despite making “pivotal” choices in its world and also despite featuring some of the best free running and art direction I’ve experienced in an open world game.

Ind v Sa, 1st Odi: It was tremendous the way Shreyas, Samson and Shardul played, says Shikhar Dhawan
Lucknow, Oct 6 (Ians) India skipper Shikhar Dhawan was very impressed with the fightback shown by Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson and Shardul Thakur to almost take India over the line. He also admitted that India could have been better in bowling and fielding.
Samson displayed valiant effort in his unbeaten knock of 86 off 63 balls while Iyer hit a counter-attacking fifty off 37 balls and Thakur produced a stunning late cameo of 33. But the trio’s splendid efforts to rescue India from 51/4 inside 18 overs went in vain as India lost to South Africa by nine runs in a truncated 40-overs a side Odi series opener.
“Very proud of the way the boys played this game. Of course while chasing, we didn’t get a good start. It’s tremendous the way Shreyas, Samson and Shardul played, it was amazing to watch it,” said Dhawan in the post-match presentation ceremony.

Save Hetty! In the military drama’s Season 14 opener, intel has at last confirmed the location of the former boss lady (Linda Hunt): Syria. “It starts off very bad for her, but eventually [the info provides] a little bit of hope,” NCIS: Los Angeles executive producer R. Scott Gemmill says. The news fires up Special Agent G. Callen (Chris O’Donnell) to go rescue his imperiled surrogate mother, despite their unresolved issues about his childhood spy training. Admiral Kilbride (Gerald McRaney) nixes the plan, though: He needs all hands on deck after terrorists set off an explosion at a facility that manufactures Navy drones. That’s just the first big boom. Arsonists light up one episode, and those gruesome serial killers that stitch bodies together from Season 9’s “The Monster” make their return.
