- Mark Joseph Davis was born in Chico, California in 1959. He has earned degrees and credentials from Santa Clara University and Stanford University, and has done further post-graduate work at Columbia University's Teachers College and the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City. He is a scholar of Holocaust studies, as a Museum Teachers Fellow at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and as a Tauber Fellow in San Francisco in association with Yad Vashem in Jerusalem, Israel. He is a charter member of the Wall of Tolerance memorial at the Southern Poverty Law Center.
As a journalist in high school, he was a sportswriter for the Chico Enterprise-Record, and in college he was Editor in Chief of The Santa Clara. He began his professional writing career at Runner's World Magazine in Mountain View, California, where he managed the graphics arts department. While teaching English at Sacred Heart Preparatory in Atherton, California and adjunct faculty at University of California, Berkeley, he began writing plays and screenplays. His first stage play was produced by the Sonoma County Repertory Theater in Santa Rosa, and other short works have been staged or read in small theaters in San Francisco. The three-act play "Schroeder's Term Paper" was stalled due to trademark issues, though it received two stage readings and accolades from Charles Schultz himself.
Mark is developing a television series "Our Show," a dramatic comedy based on the 1950's "Your Show of Shows," which was literally the first program broadcast "Live, from New York, on Saturday Night," and featured Sid Caesar and Imogene Coca.

- Mark is the only known human to have ridden a unicycle on the Davies Symphony Hall stage in San Francisco, California. The following year he played Santa Claus for a similar Christmas pageant at the same venue, with whom George Lucas's children had their picture taken.
