- Don Carter was born on July 29, 1926 in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. He was an actor, known for Miller Lite: Tastes Great, Less Filling (1973), Pro Bowlers' Tour (1962) and Top Star Bowling (1962). He was married to LaVerne Thompson and Paula Sperber. He died on January 5, 2012 in Miami, Florida, USA.

- He bowled with a distinctively ungainly right-handed style, eschewing a traditional backswing, bending his elbow and knee and pulling the ball back around his stomach, then pushing it forward.
- A charter inductee of the Professional Bowlers Association's Hall of Fame in 1975.
- In 1946, he signed a minor league contract as a pitcher/infielder with a Philadelphia Phillies affiliate. After a year, he returned to St. Louis to work at a bowling alley.
