Kevin Spacey has responded to abuse allegations against him in the new doc “Spacey Unmasked” via a video response posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Journalist Dan Wootton interviewed Spacey in a lengthy video titled “Right of Reply,” and Spacey asserted, “I’ve got nothing left to hide.”
“Why didn’t you just deny it?” Wootton asked about the early Anthony Rapp allegation. Spacey said he didn’t know what to do. “I honestly do not remember the encounter. If I did behave then as he described, I owe him a sincere apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior,” Spacey read from his statement to Buzzfeed at the time.
Wootton proposes that Rapp brought his allegations out of jealousy, while Spacey explains how he didn’t grasp the assault allegations at first, thinking that Rapp’s motive was to out his homosexuality. “I will never again...

Kevin Spacey has fired back at new allegations of sexual harassment and assault set to be heard as part of a Channel 4 documentary, Spacey Unmasked, premiering in the U.K. on May 6-7.
“I’ve got nothing left to hide,” Spacey told former U.K. broadcaster Dan Wootton during a two hour, 20 minutes interview titled Kevin Spacey: Right of Reply, which streamed on X (formerly Twitter).
Having seen off earlier allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior in civil and criminal court cases in the U.S. and the U.K., Spacey said he refused to stand by and stay silent as fresh allegations were made in the Channel 4 documentary. “I can’t go through this again, allowing myself to be basically attacked without defending myself as well,” he told Wootton.

In October 2017, Hollywood became the story. The New York Times’ blockbuster investigation of Harvey Weinstein shook the entertainment industry, unleashing a torrent of stories about harassment, abusive bosses, and exploitative power dynamics. The vast majority of victims who came forward were women, but just three weeks into what is now known as the #MeToo era, actor Anthony Rapp (Rent, Star Trek: Discovery) spoke out against Kevin Spacey, accusing the Oscar winner of drunkenly molesting him when he was 14 years old. Rapp said he wanted to “shine another light on the...

Less than 10 months after Kevin Spacey was found not guilty of sexual assault allegations brought by four men in a U.K. court, a new documentary series is due to air featuring previously unheard of testimonies about the actor’s alleged sexually inappropriate behavior.
The two-part “Spacey Unmasked,” which airs in the U.K. on May 6 and 7 on Channel 4 and will stream on Max in the U.S. having been acquired by ID, features interviews with 10 individuals — none of whom were connected to the trial — all describing their experiences with Spacey. The testimonies span five decades and involve alleged incidents that took place in Los Angeles, New York and London, in cinemas, at parties and on the set of “House of Cards.” Nine of those speaking in the docuseries haven’t shared their stories before.

The performance started with Rapp delivering the song solo, swapping the original’s pulsing 2010 synths for some pop-punk style palm-muted power chords. After Rapp ran through the first verse and chorus, Kesha herself took the stage and the song to new dizzying, delirious, breathless heights.

Days after a London jury acquitted him of sexual assault, Kevin Spacey is back in the public eye — or at least the public ear — in the trailer for a new movie, Control. He portrays “The Voice” in the clip, speaking to Great Britain’s home secretary (Bridgerton’s Lauren Metcalfe) as he remotely takes control of her car and terrorizes her for some supposed misdeeds she’s committed politically. The car, which also contains the prime minister’s daughter, hits a pedestrian and hurdles toward oncoming traffic.

Kevin Spacey has addressed the press corps following Wednesday’s not guilty verdict in his London sexual assault trial and after two days of deliberations — his first time speaking out since legal proceedings began on June 28.
Earlier Wednesday, the Oscar-winning “American Beauty” actor was cleared of all nine charges of sexual assault, indecent assault, and causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity after the jury heard from four men who made complaints against him.
As broadcast by BBC World News, Spacey told reporters, “I imagine that many of you can understand that there’s a lot for me to process after what just happened today. I would like to say that I’m enormously grateful to the jury for having taken the time to examine all of the evidence and all of the facts carefully before they reached their decision, and I am humbled by the outcome today.

London, July 26 (Ians) Former ‘House of Cards’ star Kevin Spacey broke down in tears on Wednesday as a UK jury found him not guilty of nine charges of sexual assault, indecent assault and — the most serious of them all — causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity, says ‘Variety’.
This means, according to ‘Variety’, that Spacey, on his 64th birthday, has been cleared of all charges against him in the UK. It took the jury two days to come to the decision. The actor has spent the past four and a half weeks at Southwark Crown Court in London fighting his case.

A UK jury has cleared Kevin Spacey of all of the sexual assault charges against him.
The actor stood accused of sexually assaulting a total of four men in London and Gloucestershire between 2001 and 2013; for most of that time, Spacey served as the artistic director of London’s Old Vic theater. Breaking down those charges, Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service back in June 2022 charged Spacey with four counts of sexual assault against three men, plus a charge of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without their consent.

Kevin Spacey has been found not guilty in his sex crimes trial in London.
The House of Cards and American Beauty star was facing nine charges at Southwark Crown Court, including sexual assault, which were alleged to have been committed between 2001 and 2013 and relate to four men.
Spacey had tears in his eyes as a jury cleared him of the charges. After 12 hours and 26 minutes, the jury panel acquitted Spacey of seven counts of sexual assault, one count of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent and one count of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent.
The double-Oscar winner denied all charges – saying the allegations against him were “madness” and a “stab in the back.”
Jurors rejected the prosecution’s claims that Spacey had “aggressively” grabbed three men by the crotch and had performed a sex act on another man while he was asleep in his flat.

The record, produced with Alexander 23, finds the pop singer talking herself out of a good thing, over and over again, using extreme hypotheticals to mark the end of a relationship before she can ever get too comfortable.

Good news and bad news, "The Sex Lives of College Girls" fans: the hit HBO Max series is returning for a third season! But, sadly, one of the fan favorites is leaving the show. On July 9, Variety reported that Reneé Rapp, who plays Leighton, is downsizing to a recurring role in season three before she'll ultimately depart. Rapp then confirmed the news shortly after, writing in a statement on social media, "College girls moved me out to L.A. and introduced me to some of my favorite people. Two and a half years later - it's given me y'all and this community."
She continued, "Thank u Mindy, Justin and everyone at Max for believing in me. A lot of queer work gets belittled - but playing Leighton has changed my life. I love who I am 10x more than I did before knowing her. I hope she gave y'all a little bit of that too.

Max’s comedy The Sex Lives of College Girls is saying goodbye to one of its core quartet of suitemates.
Renee Rapp will exit the series during its upcoming third season. The actress and recording artist will appear in a few episodes, but as a recurring guest star rather than a series regular, that sets up her character Leighton Murray’s departure from Essex College.
The show’s second season ended with Leighton coming out to her dad and quitting her sorority, while her roommates dealt with issues of their own.
Rapp played Regina George in the Mean Girls musical on Broadway and reprises the role in the film version, which began production in the spring. She’s also signed to Interscope Records and released a debut EP, Everything to Everyone, last year. Her first full-length album, Snow Angel, is set for release in August.

A year ago Monday, Dylan Mulvaney came out as a trans woman and began chronicling her journey on TikTok with her “Days of Girlhood” series.
To celebrate her one-year anniversary, Mulvaney hosted a cabaret show, “Dylan Mulvaney’s Day 365 Live!,” at the iconic Rainbow Room in New York. Before the show, she spoke with Variety on the red carpet about what she’s learned from her very public and unexpected journey.
“It was such an accident, but a very happy one,” Mulvaney told Variety on Monday night. “Going in, I had no idea just how vulnerable I would get and how much I had to learn about womanhood.”
The 80-minute variety show began with a pre-recorded clip of Rachel Brosnahan (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”) comforting Mulvaney in her dressing room. From there, Mulvaney eagerly entered from the balcony at the back of the Rainbow Room and sang a series of Kate Bush covers.

While she did not confirm what roles the two will be playing, they famously appeared as two of the high school’s employees, math teacher Ms. Norbury and principal Mr. Duvall, in the 2004 film, which Fey also wrote before adapting it into a musical that opened on Broadway in 2018.

As society evolves, moments in films that were once beloved can start to sour in history’s proverbial rear-view mirror. When Sandy (Olivia Newton John) revamps her entire look and personality to please her boyfriend Danny (John Travolta) at the end of Grease (1978), for example. Or when the cartoon crows in Disney’s animated classic Dumbo are literally called “The Jim Crows”.
Even plenty of Academy Award-winning movies have not aged particularly well. As the 94th Academy Awards approach this Sunday (27 March), here are 10 Oscar-winning films that are problematic in 2021.
Green Book (2018)
When Green Book, which won Best Picture at the 91st Academy Awards, arrived in cinemas a few years back, it quickly became a divisive topic of conversation. The picture, starring Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortensen, enjoyed early success with audiences and sailed through awards season, but critics lambasted it as being shortsighted in its depiction of race relations.
