This past summer, it was announced that Scott Snyder's Best Jackett Press is teaming up with comiXology for eight new comic books that will be released digitally as comiXology Originals before eventually being published as trade paperbacks by Dark Horse. In addition to that exciting news, it's now been revealed that We Have Demons (a new series co-created by Snyder and Greg Capullo that's now available to read on comiXology) will be published as individual print editions by Dark Horse in the spring of 2022 (released monthly beginning in March) before coming out in trade paperback in the summer of 2022.
The periodical print editions of all three issues of We Have Demons will include variant covers by different artists (as well as foil variants of Capullo's main covers) and bonus content for readers to enjoy.
Below, we have a look at Jock's variant cover for We Have Demons #1 as well as...

We knew Dark Nights: Death Metal, the big DC megaevent from Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Jonathan Glapion and Fco Plascencia, was reworked when it got delayed. DC just announced how much it was reworked.
The main series has been expanded from six to seven issues, with a skip month planned for September. However, to help fill us up for that break, we get two supplemental comics: Dark Nights: Death Metal Guidebook #1 on August 11th, and Dark Nights: Death Metal Legends of the Dark Knights #1 on August 25th.
Death Metal is the follow up to Dark Nights: Metal, the series that introduced the Dark Multiverse and its evil coterie of Batmen (including the Batman Who Laughs) to the Dcu; to Snyder’s Justice League, which brought dark goddess Perpetua in from her prison in the Source Wall, to tear down the existing multiverse and replace it with something more pliable; and to Hell Arisen,...

Delayed by the comic shop and shipping shutdowns from Covid-19, DC announced that on June 16, we’ll finally get to see the first issue of Dark Nights: Death Metal, the massive event comic tying together 10 years of Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Jonathan Glaipion, Fco Plascencia, and others’ mega-dc story. “The motto of the whole event is it all matters,” Snyder tells us in an interview about the new book. “It’s built on years and years of DC history in a way that we wanted to honor and touch upon so many classic stories that we love that we felt deserve to be celebrated at this moment. And ones from the present as well that we thought could use more impact on the main line, from Crisis on Infinite Earths all the way to Doomsday Clock.

When writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo were tapped to create a new volume of Batman comics for DC’s New 52 reboot in 2011, they didn’t set out to create a saga that would span almost a decade. With early story arcs like “The Court of Owls” and “Death of the Family,” Snyder and Capullo were just trying to tell the biggest Batman stories they could, the ones they’d always wanted to tell.
Their run, which is regarded today as one of the best in the history of the character, reimagined Batman’s origin story in “Zero Year,” killed the Caped Crusader off in “Endgame,” and brought him back to life in “Superheavy.” Then they sent the Dark Knight to space to fight a cosmic threat from a nightmare multiverse in the 2017 Dark Nights: Metal event, which is getting a Wonder Woman-centric sequel later this year.

Snyder, Capullo, Glapion & Plascencia re-team for a follow up to the big crossover, Metal
After days of teasing, DC finally announced what we've all been expecting since Scott Snyder's Justice League wrapped: Dark Nights: Death Metal, the follow up to the gonzo 2017-18 crossover Dark Nights: Metal, the event that introduced the Dark Multiverse to the DC cosmology, a nightmare version of the DC Universe full of Bat-themed baddies.
If Metal read like it was born out of Greg Capullo whispering "memento metal" into Snyder's ear as they walked into a DC writer's retreat, then Death Metal sounds like what happens when Capullo trebuchets a milk crate full of Megadeth records through a brooding Snyder's living room window, convincing the writer to become what his enemies fear most: totally fucking brutal.
In case you haven't been following Metal or Justice League for the past few years,...

It’s always nice when a small time villain like The Joker gets his own spotlight issue. Hidden away as he is by DC, it would be nice to see him get some exposure….said no one ever. Let’s be honest, especially at the moment, you just cannot escape The Joker. Be it in comics, or on screen, including The Joker movie, TV shows like Gotham, and animated movies like Killing Joke. He’s a one man industry. But why? Was is it about The Joker that taps into the human psyche and interests us so. Is it a repressed hatred of our fellow humans? A chance to stick it to the man? anarchic rebellion? Truth is, I think, all those things. The Joker is such a malleable character,...

If any duo creating Batman comics for the current decade could be likened to Denny O’Neil and Neal Adams, I’d have to say it’s Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. After captivating audiences for 51 issues during the days of the New 52, their contributions to the enduring mythos are undeniable. To briefly reiterate, we have these fellas to thank for The Court of Owls, Death of the Family and Endgame, among others.
Now, they’re back to finish the journey with Batman: Last Knight on Earth, the latest addition to DC’s Black Label. And let me tell you, after reading the first in this three-issue limited series, I believe this to be one of the most imaginative tales featuring the Dark Knight in recent years. It’s kind of like Batman: The Animated Series‘ “Dreams in Darkness” had a baby with Final Crisis...

Batman: Last Knight on Earth is a new Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo story with an unexpected twist. We unpack the first issue.
This Batman article contains major spoilers for Batman: Last Knight on Earth #1.
Batman: Last Knight on Earth begins a stunning and beautiful conclusion to the eight-year Bat-saga spun by writer Scott Snyder and artists Greg Capullo, Fco Plascencia, and Jonathan Glapion. Since 2011, this team (along with inker Danny Miki later in their run) has produced some of the most exciting Batman stories in comic book history, from a detective yarn that introduced an owl-themed criminal cult that ran Gotham from the sewers to the horror-tinged return of the Joker (this time sans face) in "Death of the Family." And this year's dystopian, post-apocalyptic Last Knight on Earth already feels like a story that will be remembered for years to come.

Batman: Last Knight on Earth is the culmination of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's legendary team-up in Gotham. It arrives in May!
Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, the legendary team behind an epic Batman run from 2011-2016, has one last Batman story to tell and it's a big one. It's called Batman: Last Knight on Earth, a post-apocalyptic tale that sees Batman team up with the Joker for one final quest to save a ravaged Gotham. This three-part limited series will be published under DC's adult-oriented Black Label imprint.
The book, which was originally going to be drawn by Snyder's frequent collaborator Sean Murphy (Batman: White Knight), is meant to be Snyder and Capullo's final Batman story together. The project has been in gestation for a few years now. In fact, Snyder first planted the seeds for Last Knight on Earth all the way back...

While Tom King works on his own Batman opus, “The War of Jokes and Riddles,” Scott Snyder continues to defy all expectations by penning one of the grandest comic book events in a long time. In Dark Nights: Metal #2, Snyder and his partner in art, Greg Capullo, along with Jonathan Glapion and Fco Plascencia, crank it up a notch (to 11) and prove it’s good to be bad.
After all the surprises and dinosaur-riding in Dark Nights: Metal #1, things get even crazier in this issue, as Superman, Wonder Woman, and the rest of the Justice League track down Batman before he does something that he (and humanity) will regret. Naturally, the Caped Crusader doesn’t want their assistance and prefers to go at it alone, thinking only he can save the world. Typical of the Stubborn Knight, isn’t it?
