Josie Searles
Born in Long Beach California, grew up in Northern CA. Moving around a lot as a child. Molded me to have a friendly and out going personality. I've learned how to adjust quickly and this skill set ally me to work in high pressured projects with a positive attitude.
I've always loved the craft of hair dressing! And started doing hair as a teenager. I hung out at a place called the wall with fellow artisans. This allowed me to find models that would allow me to cut and color hair in my kitchen. Back in the late 80's we didn't have artificial colors like pink, blue and purple. I'd mix a few drops of fabric dye in the conditioner and apply over bleached hair. Or a chuckle to me that I could have invented exactly what stylist use today to make that colors. Nowadays it's such a treat and every color line has a version of it. In those days I as just excited to have a willing model.
I had the honor to be an international guest artist for companies such as Bumble & Bumble and Sephora. I loved everything about being a network educator. This opened up opportunities to work Bumble and Bumble at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week NYC including Spring/Summer 2012 * Custo Barceloia * Creatures of the Wind * Francecescas * Wayne Fall/Winter 2012 * BCGB * Katya Leonovich * Sally Lapointe * Marlon Golbel * Lacoste Fall/Winter 2014 * Catherine Malandrino * Vera Wang * Ovadia and Son * Thome Brown * Ralph Rucci Spring Summer 2014 * Tonya Taylor * ToddSnyder * Bcbg Max Azira * Herve Leger * Ralph Rucci * Lacoste
More recently I have dabbling into the movie industry and have been credited for Ingrid Goes West and for movie trailer for Squaddron and other publications . I have been working in Reno as a hair stylist for the past 25 years. I have been a network educator for Bumble and Bumble for 17 years and just recently resigned to open Tribe Salon. I feel passionate about my craft and love to create, inspire, motivate and empower clients and fellow hair dressers. It's such a privilege to take on an apprentice fresh out of beauty school and watch the grow. It's not only about teaching craft. Nowadays I help with life skills like communication, client relationships and how to quickly recover from tough salon situations. For now I am happy evaluating industry standers and day playing.
