Lili Reinhart (“Riverdale”) is leading the cast of an upcoming thriller titled American Sweatshop, with Deadline reporting that the film will explore the dark side of the internet.
“In a device driven world,” Deadline details, “American Sweatshop will take a look at the toll of social media through the eyes of Daisy Moriarty (Reinhart), who while dealing with a chaotic personal life, finds herself sucked into the underbelly of the internet.
“Moriarty, and a motley group of coworkers, toil in a cottage industry of agencies that evaluate harmful and offensive pictures and videos uploaded to social media. With detached caution and a deranged sense of humor, they examine the millions of posts that get ‘flagged for review.’
“But one particularly violent video grabs hold of Daisy, luring her out of this office, away from the safety of her keyboard and into a dangerous world as she obsessively seeks to hold someone accountable.

Controversial while he may be, Tom Cruise is the quintessential movie star. You can love him or hate him, but his on-screen charisma and willingness to go all in for all his roles is what makes him, even now, a considerable box-office draw.
He embodies cinema, and his dedication to pulling out all the stops in whatever he does—whether riding off a cliff on a bike or carrying out an impossible fight sequence on the top of a moving practically-constructed train—evidences his legacy and brand in Hollywood.

But this trait of his isn’t one he cultivated recently. Even before the plethora of Mission: Impossible films showed us Cruise’s knack for committing to the unimaginable, there was one movie, right after Top Gun and The Color of Money, called Cocktail (1988), where the actor’s diligence and tenacity spoke volumes of his character.

Erika Jayne has been winning over the hearts of Rhobh fans this season, and she was on fire in the latest episode.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast trip to Spain is still underway, and she gave us some memorable moments during a dinner coordinated by Sutton Stracke.
Erika whipped out her charm, wit, and knowledge of world issues, and not only were her castmates impressed, but so were viewers.
They took to social media to discuss the recent episode– lauding the Pretty Mess singer in the comments.
That’s a far cry from last season when fans aired outrage over her behavior amid her estranged husband, Tom Girardi’s fraud and embezzlement case.
People blasted the 52-year-old for her lack of compassion towards the victims of Tom’s illegal dealings.
Even her castmates questioned how much she knew about Tom’s crimes, and a frustrated Erika lashed out...

Stars: Nicolas Cage, Fred Hechinger, Jeremy Bobb, Paul Raci, Xander Berkeley, Rachel Keller, Amber Rose Mason | Written by Gabe Polsky, Liam Satre-Meloy | Directed by Gabe Polsky
Kansas, 1874. In a letter to his father, Will Andrews (Fred Hechinger) details his decision to leave Harvard and travel west, searching for a purpose while exploring the country. His idealistic desire to experience a hunt leads Andrews to join experienced buffalo hunter Miller (Nicolas Cage), who promises a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Little do they realise that the unfolding journey will risk their lives and their sanity.
Amidst announcements about this adaptation of John Edward Williams’ 1960 novel, the most attention regarding this film occurred during an actor roundtable, where Cage mentioned a horse named Rain Man that he believed wanted to kill him. Such a fun story feels different from co-writer/director Gabe Polsky’s feature about man’s all-consuming nature and the destructive aftermath left behind.

It's a rare thing these days to have a big genre movie come out that isn't attached to some existing, already-proven IP. Gareth Edwards' "The Creator" is bucking that trend, however, and bringing a film that has been billed as a cross between "Blade Runner" and "Apocalypse Now."
I had the chance to see three sequences from the upcoming movie on IMAX, and what I saw not only confirmed the retrofuturistic vibe given off by the trailer, but also hints at a blockbuster genre film that — wait for it — has a well thought-out story with fully developed characters who go on an emotional journey over the course of the movie's 133-minute runtime.
It's that emotional aspect that struck me; even though I only saw three scenes plucked out of the film, I already felt for Joshua (John David Washington), his wife Maya (Gemma Chan), and the AI child/potential destroyer of humanity,...

The Hollywood Reporter’s annual Actors Roundtable is, this year, full of fascinating bits. Especially with Nicolas Cage at the table, joined by the likes of Andrew Garfield, Simon Rex, Jonathan Majors, and Peter Dinklage.
One such anecdote came from Cage himself, who talked about working with an especially moody horse named Rain Man on the set of his upcoming Western, “Butcher’s Crossing.”
The story came up as Majors (“The Harder They Fall”) and Nicolas Cage (“Pig”) swapped stories about their experiences with animals working on movie sets.
“At least you had a nice horse,” Cage told Majors, who worked with horses on the Netflix Western. “My horse on ‘Butcher’s Crossing,’ named Rain Man, wanted to kill me.”
“Rain Man? Where’d you shoot that?” Majors asked.
“Montana,” Cage said. “I was in Blackfoot Country. Rain Man kept trying to knock me off and would try to run my head into roofs,...

When Rain Man was released in 1988, the film immediately received praise from the public and from critics, going on to gross more than any other film that year. Even those who never watched the movie inevitably learned something new. Some were intrigued by Dustin Hoffman’s character’s ability to count cards in blackjack. Others wanted to learn more about the life of savants.
Thirty years after the film’s release, some critics have looked back at Rain Man, written by Barry Morrow, and wondered if the film’s initial praise was too kind. Once again, some focused on the film’s treatment of Hoffman’s character, named Raymond, who is an autistic savant. They wondered if the character helped shed light on the condition or misrepresented autism.
However, most of Rain Man’s misgivings relate to the world of card counting. In the film, Raymond can count cards on...

“She opened a lot of doors for us,” “Judas and the Black Messiah” costume designer Charlese Antoinette Jones says of Ruth E. Carter’s
historic Oscar win in costume design for her work on “Black Panther.” “I’ve seen more people requesting Black designers this year — definitely due to her win, but also partially due to the social climate. Even me being considered [for awards] right now is due to her winning and laying this groundwork.”
Francine Jamison-Tanchuck has logged more than 40 years in the industry, with the Civil War epic “Glory” marking her first film as lead designer. But she says she’s often faced skepticism from an industry that sought to pigeonhole her talent. “At one point, there was that

"It's beautiful." "What is?" "To be alive." Cj Entertainment has debuted the full main trailer for the South Korean sci-fi thriller called Seobok (or Seo Bok), the name given to the very first human clone. This action thriller tells the story of Ki Heon, a former agent from an intelligence agency who was given his last order to protect the world's first human clone Seo Bok. He must escort Seobok, who has never known life outside of the laboratory, to a safe place. Starring Gong Yoo and Park Bo Gum in the lead roles. Gong Yoo explains: "The director told us to use Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise's relationship in Rain Man as our reference." That makes sense. This does look a bit like Ex Machina meets Rain Man, and I'm certainly curious to give it a watch. The footage in both trailers looks quite good - nice to...

“Blair Witch, which I consider incredibly fortunate to have been a part of, does come with its own set of baggage,” says Daniel Myrick, one half of the duo who made the found footage phenomenon which scared the hell out of audiences when it was released in cinemas in 1999 and went on to change the face of horror as we know it.
We’re chatting (via Zoom) in the context of Myrick’s new movie, Skyman, a documentary style sci-fi which feels like it could be real, featuring elements of found footage and starring relative unknowns Michael Selle and Nicolette Sweeney, who play Carl Merriweather and his sister Gina. Updated with MGM statement: An unnamed Starz staffer should get a big promotion if the premium cabler is successful in its just-filed breach of contract lawsuit against MGM. The suit accuses the company for double and even triple dipping more than 300 movies and TV series to which the multi-platformer thought it had the exclusive rights.
“In August 2019, Starz first became suspicious that MGM might have violated the terms of the Library Agreements after a Starz employee discovered that Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure – a film that should have been exclusive to Starz – was available for streaming on Amazon,” reads the complaint put before a federal court Monday (read it here).
“After notifying MGM of this discovery, MGM admitted this breach,” added the five-claim suit that seeks a jury trial. “Starz, however, discovered that Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure was far from the only film that MGM appeared to have improperly licensed.
