- During the filming for his first screen appearance in the James Bond 007 film, The World Is Not Enough (1999), Talal Malik was given the Walther P99 gun, James Bond's famous weapon of choice, to handle by the set's ballistics and firearms experts, before shooting for the film began.
- Talal Malik has also appeared on-screen in the Bollywood film, Umar (2006). The main veteran actors in the film, Kader Khan, Prem Chopra and Shakti Kapoor, were the leading villains in Bollywood in the 1980s and starred opposite the legendary Indian film actor, Amitabh Bachchan in director Manmohan Desai's super-hit film, Naseeb (1981).
- Talal Malik is similar to fictional British super-agent James Bond 007 in three respects: both of them are Oxbridge graduates, Talal Malik was at Oxford, whilst James Bond was at Cambridge; both read for degrees in Oriental Studies; and both of them have met Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Talal Malik on 13 December 2005 and James Bond, as played by actor Daniel Craig, for the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics on 27 July 2012.
- Talal Malik appeared as an actor in roles relating to both the domestic and foreign intelligence agencies in the UK, including in the James Bond 007 film, The World Is Not Enough (1999), representing Mi6, and the BBC television series, Road Trip (2005), representing and titled in the US as Mi5.
- Talal Malik was approached to audition for the role of an Arab Prince in the Oscar-winning film, Syriana (2005), but formally declined, citing conflicts of interests. He subsequently became a senior management adviser for consulting firm, McKinsey & Company, in the Middle East, with his work recognized by all the Royal Courts in the Arabian Gulf.
- In 2006, Talal wrote and produced a multimedia print, video and online story for the global news agency, Reuters, on the history and status of the Arab and Egyptian film industry. The story included interviews with Egyptian producer, Adel Adeeb, who made the critically-acclaimed film The Yacoubian Building (2006), and also included filming at the Pyramids at Giza for the World Premiere of Laylat El-Baby Doll (2008).
