- Geert Hammink was the backup center at LSU in the early 90's. The starter? Shaquille O'Neal. Geert actually made it to the NBA as Shaq's backup on the Orlando Magic, but only played five games in three years. He finished his NBA career playing three games for the Golden State Warriors in 1996. His association with Shaquille O'Neal almost certainly garnered him the role in Blue Chips.
