Kurt Boyd was born in the small town of Jena, Louisiana, grew up in the nearby smaller town of Olla, Louisiana, and moved west in his twenties after graduating from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He began a television career behind the scenes in broadcast news, as a writer and producer. He moved to acting while living in San Diego, as a background performer for Stu Segall Productions, appearing in series such as Veronica Mars (2004). He later put an acting career on hold, while he continued behind the scenes at local television news stations. He moved in front of the camera as a fill-in news anchor at KNOE-TV in Monroe, Louisiana, between his on-and-off time in Southern California. After a gig as a morning talk show co-host in Louisiana, he returned to California, rediscovered and fell in love with acting again, after he could no longer ignore the bite of the bug. He pursued the craft, studying with Samuel Warren, CSA, John Swanbeck, and Tom Logan, DGA.
After appearing in commercials and short films, he made his feature film debut with a small role in the horror film Manifest Evil (2022). It has been onward from there. He enjoys acting, writing, and reading. He's a self-described "pop culture nerd", die-hard horror movie fan, and is also an avid runner, having competed in marathons and even ultra marathons over the years. He divides his time between his "adopted hometown" of San Diego and Los Angeles.- Actress
