A Legend of Telugu Cinema from South India, K.Raghavendra Rao's career spans 4 decades during which he has directed 110 films to date and has produced over 25 films in various Indian Languages.
He started his career successfully in 1975 having a long association with the icon of Telugu Cinema, the late N.T.R (ex-chief minister) and continues into the 21st century having worked though 5 generations of stars that include NTR & ANR, Krishna & ShobanBabu, Chiranjeevi & Balakrishna, Nagarjun & Venkatesh, Mahesh Babu, Jr. NTR & Allu Arjun.
He is credited with having longstanding relationships with some of the biggest stars of Telugu cinema noteworthy of them being 12 films with the late NTR ( a resurgence with which he went on to become the chief minister), 8 films with Chiranjeevi ( the most by any director) and 17 films with Sridevi (the most by any director). He has introduced and launched the careers of Venkatesh (son of D.Rama Naidu), Mahesh Babu (son of Krishna), Jr. NTR (grandson of Late NTR) and Allu Arjun (nephew of Chiranjeevi) apart from many heroines like Sridevi, Jaya Prada, Ramya Krishna, etc.
His foray into Hindi cinema in the 80's included blockbuster hits like Himatwaala, Tofha, Justice Choudary, Farz Aur Kanoon, Jani Dhost, among others(16 films). He is credited with the resurgence of Jeethandra as the jumping jack of Hindi cinema. As per independent estimates, the box office impact of his Hindi films adjusted for inflation in today's terms is over Rs.200 crores and puts him among the most successful directors in Indian film history. His assistants include successful directors like B.Gopal, Kondandaram Reddy, S.S. Raj Mauli, Chandrasekar, YVS Choudary, etc.

Mani sharma who is popularly known as Swara brahma for his contributions of many memorable melodies in telugu cinema. Mani has worked as a freelance music programmer under many reputed music directors such as Ilaiyaraja, Ramesh Naidu, M.M.Keeravani and Raj-koti where A.R.Rahman and he were friends in their young days. Born into a farmer's family, Rama Rao Taraka Nandamuri got his bachelors of arts degree and took a job with the government. Married to Nandamuri Basavatarakam, he began acting in films, his first being Mana Desam (1949), in which he played a police officer. His first movie as a hero was Palletoori Pilla (1950), which was a huge hit. His subsequent movies--Showkar (1950), Pathala Bhairavi (1951), Malliswari (1951) and Chandraharam (1953)--established him as the premier hero in the Telugu film industry. He acted in a mythological role as Lord Krishna for the first time in Mayabazar (1957) and acted in most of the major roles in "Ramayana" and "Mahabharatam", even in Tamil films. He acted in a total of 254 films, including some Tamil and Hindi films. He suffered some career reversals in the late 1960s and early 1970s, but came back with a bang in the late 1970s with some major hits like Adavi Ramudu (1977), Yamagola (1977), Vetagadu (1979). Some of his major hits in the early 1980s include Sardar Papa Rayudu (1980), Bobbili Puli (1982), Kondaveeti Simham (1981). He became the first superstar of the Telugu films a position which was held by Chiranjeevi till around 2001. An intensely emotional person, he also directed films, built a studio and produced films. He established the TeluguDesam party in 1982 and within a year became the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. He was an avid advocate of Telugu Pride and made sure his native state. He married Lakshmi Parvathi in 1993. He was re-elected by a landslide in 1994, but was ousted from power by an internal party coup in which his son-in-law and the present Chief Minister, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu, took over in 1995. He died less than six months later, in 1996 because of heart attack. His son Nandamuri Balakrishna is a famous actor in Telugu films. He is survived by six sons and three daughters.- Music Department

The legend in telugu music, Ghantasala was born in 1922. His father Surayya was also a famous singer. During his childhood, Ghantasala used to dance to his father's Tarangams. After his father's death, his maternal Uncle Ryali Pitchi Ramaiah brought up Ghantasala. As he wished to learn classical music, he went to the only Music College in Vijayanagaram, without telling his family. He went through a number of hardships to learn music and went on to become a "Sangeeta Vidhwan". Ghantasala participated in the 'Quit India Movement' of 1942, for which he was arrested and imprisoned for 18 months. After coming out of jail, he met "Senior Samudrala", who advised him to try his luck in the film industry as a singer. All India Radio gave him his first break as a singer when HMV rejected him. Later on, Peketi Siva Ram from HMV recorded his private songs. He joined Pratibha films and sang for chorus and acted as an 'extra' in A.N.R's film 'Seetha Rama Jananam'. Later Ghantasala worked with famous music directors like Gali Penchala, C.R. Subbaraman. His first movie as a music director was "Laxmamma". He composed the music for NTR's first film "Mana Desam". He became a famous playback singer with super hit songs for films like " Keelu Gurram" and "Laila Majnu". He sang more than 10,000 songs in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malyalam and worked as a music director for over 100 films. He gave his voice for all the popular heroes of Telugu film industry. His private songs were equally popular and his devotional songs are popular even today. He has given performances in America, England, Germany etc and had the distinction of performing in the United Nations Organisation. Andhra pradesh Government felicitated him on the occasion of 25 years of his film career. His last gift to the people was his rendition of the Bhagavad Geeta, which is the most popular version even till today. His illustrious career came to an end on 11 February 1974.- Chalapathi Rao was born on 8 May 1944 in Balliparru, Krishna, Andhra Pradesh, India.
