Actor Dorian Boguta, best known for "The Death of Mr. Lazarescu" (2005) and "Francesca" (2009) was born in Kishinyov, USSR (now Chisinau, The Republic of Moldova) on April 24, 1971. He graduated from Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film University in Georgia in 1992 and started his acting career at the National Theatre in Chisinau, where he played numerous noticeable lead roles. In 1999 he moved to Bucharest and started acting in films, gaining recognition with the TV series "Lombarzilor 8" (2006) and later with "Francesca" (2009), which was highly appreciated worldwide and garnered a lot of attention at many prestigious film festivals. In 2009 he made his debut in directing, with the short-film "10", marking the beginning of a series of highly successful short-films, including "From now on" (2012), which gained several awards, as well as The best Romanian short-film. He is a director and writer, known for The Unsaved (2013), Eastern Business (2016) and Hackerville (2018).- Lia Sinchevici (Sin-Kay-Vi-ch) was born in the Eastern European town called Rezina, Republic of Moldova, daughter of the two doctors, Vladimir and Maria. Lia has Polish origins. Since childhood she was very poetic, reciting poetry in front of crowds and later being a young TV star in her local town TV station, broadcasting and presenting various shows and also an activist of the debate club. At age 16, first exit outside Moldova was into the USA as an exchange student, winning a Future Leaders Exchange scholarship to represent the culture of her country. Did great volunteering work in some schools of Ohio and taught people about Moldovan traditions and learned about American culture throughout her host-family. After graduating school, she decided to study Journalism in Romania, the country next door. Really fast, some Bucharest modeling agencies noticed her and she was spotted on the runway, catalogs, magazines (such as Elle), ads throughout the city clients absolutely loving her natural beauty. Her agents quickly started to recommend her for TV/internet commercials and various artists videos, as Lia was naturally acting in front of the camera and enjoying that process. The commercials and videos she was involved turned viral on YouTube. She soon realized that she has a lot to give to the world throughout acting, so she enrolled in the reputable actor Dragos Bucur acting school to test her skills. Encouraged, she acted in two shorts, enough to be spotted for TV Comedy Show of Toni Grecu, one of the leaders of the Romanian comedy since 1981. Lia's charisma took over Romanian public, and shortly she turned into a star. Once Lia graduated from Journalism, she went for admissions of the National University of Theatrical Arts, one of the best acting academies from Europe, so she could learn everything about her talent. By now, Lia took her time to study methods, to practice in different plays versatile compositions, compete in young actors contests, play on stage and get a master's degree in theatrical art. Lia has done only a few international low-budget productions at Media Pro Studios, but thanks to them she started her career meeting and working with world known personalities such as Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgreen, Cuba Gooding Jr., Shia LeBoef, Rupert Grint, Mads Mickelsen, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Christoph Waltz etc. Directors admire her comic skills from famous sit-com production "Dementia Hospital" and "Romanian Comedy Service", a show where guest stars of each episode are the biggest TV and movie stars and real politicians; but as a guest of the famous TV show "Guaranteed 100%" as Maggie from the Cat on a hot tin roof made a massive impression on her dramatic skills. Her first appearance on National Television (TVR2) for a filmed theatrical play production, hit nr.1 ratings of the evening, overcoming the news audience. These and a few more productions are the only ones Lia accepted during her acting studies throughout the 5 years of University. Svetlana Nikolaevna Kryuchkova was born on June 22, 1950, in Kishinev, Moldavia, USSR (now Chishnau, Moldavia). Her father, named Nikolai Kryuchkov, was an army officer. Before becoming an actress, Kryuchkova was a worker at ZIL automobile plant in Moscow. In 1973 she graduated from the Acting Studio named after Vladimir Nemirovich-Danchenko, and was an actress at Moscow Art Theatre for two seasons. She shot to fame after starring in TV series The Long Recess (1973).
Since 1975, Kryuchkova has been a permanent member of the legendary troupe of Bolshoi Drama Theatre (BDT) in St. Petersburg (Leningrad) upon personal invitation from the legendary director Georgi Tovstonogov. Kryuchkova worked with Tovstonogov for 14 years, she played in many of the Tovstonogov's stage productions and was highly regarded by Tovstonogov for her commanding stage presence and effortless style. During that time Kryuchkova worked with an outstanding ensemble of actors at BDT. There her stage partners were Sergey Yurskiy, Oleg Basilashvili, Kirill Lavrov, Zinaida Sharko, Elena Popova, Vladislav Strzhelchik, Vsevolod Kuznetsov, Gennadiy Bogachyov, Andrey Tolubeev, and many other remarkable Russian actors. Her best known stage performances in BDT were the role of Kupavina in 'Volki i ovtsy', a play by Aleksandr Ostrovskiy, and Kostyleva in 'Na dne' (Lower Depths) by Maxim Gorky.
Svetlana Kryuchkova received the title of People's Artist of Russia. She was two times winner of Nika Award in 1989, and was again nominated for Nika Award in 1999. Sergey Igorevich Stepanov, commonly known as the Epic Sax Guy, is a Moldovan musician and composer and a member of the SunStroke Project. Stepanov graduated in 2005 from Transnistrian State Arts Institute of Tiraspol. After graduation he was drafted into the Transnistrian army, where he met Anton Ragoza. Later they formed Sunstroke band, now known as SunStroke Project. Stepanov is dubbed 'Epic Sax Guy' by many on the internet. As a member of SunStroke Project, Sergey participated at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 in Oslo, where SunStroke Project finished 22nd, with their song "Run Away". After the contest, Stepanov, thanks to his extravagant look and dancing style, quickly became an Internet meme named "Epic Sax Guy" through a YouTube video with Sergey's instrumental solo performance during the group's Eurovision performance. It quickly went viral and spawned a number of remix videos, including a ten-hour long remixed version. In 2014, Stepanov's 2010 performance was included in the Eurovision Book of Records, a collection of the most memorable moments in the history of the contest. In 2017, SunStroke Project returned to Eurovision with the song "Hey, Mamma!", and this time finished 3rd. Many notable publications around the world wrote about the comeback of the "Epic Sax Guy", and on the Internet new videos and remixes with Stepanov's performance appeared, this time known as "Ultra Sax Guy".
