Barbara is a German-born Assyrian filmmaker. She graduated from The London Film School with a MA in Filmmaking and was a former BFA Student in Motion Pictures and Television at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA. Growing up in Pfullendorf, a small town in Southern Germany, Barbara developed an intense interest in films, particularly in the works of film director Martin Scorsese, and film editor Mark Goldblatt, who have been her biggest inspiration. Mark Goldblatt became Barbara's editing mentor. Barbara's short film The Violin Teacher (2016) was selected for Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival 2016 with its world premiere. She now works as a Film and TV editor in Southern Germany while writing her first drama feature film.
What Barbara enjoys most about filmmaking is not only to entertain and educate people but to inspire others with her works and to tell stories that people can identify and connect with on a deeper level. Barbara says: "Cinema is much more than entertainment, it's life wrapped in art. This is why I love making films".- Daniel Schuhmacher was born on 19 April 1987 in Pfullendorf, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
