Lagoni had a sinister and stern look about him - a trait he used successfully in ca. 80 silent films. Nordisk Film hired him in 1909 and he was one of the first Sherlock Holmes in films (1910-11), but mostly appeared in dour character parts.
In his very thin book of memoirs, he did not mention one word about his extensive film career.
At one time married to actress Alma Lagoni.
