- Adolf Gondrell was born on 1 July 1902 in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. He was an actor, known for Das Lied der Nachtigall (1944), Wer bist du, den ich liebe? (1949) and Venus vor Gericht (1941). He died on 13 January 1954 in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.
- Admiral Blandy was the head of the Navy's Bureau of Ordinance in the early stages of World War II; later commanding an amphibious task group in the central Pacific. In late 1945, he was given command of Joint Task Force 1 which carried out atomic bomb tests in Bikini atoll in the summer of 1946.
