Producer/director Adrian Brunel was a major director in England during the 1920s and 1930s. He founded Minerva Films in partnership with actor Leslie Howard, but his career started to fade during World War II. He later founded the London Film Society, an organization dedicated to eliminating censorship in Britain which prevented many classic Russian films from being seen in British theaters. He was married to actress Jane Dryden.- A 1905 graduate of the College of Charleston, Herbert Ravenel Sass was an old school Southern gentleman - historian, novelist, short story writer, amateur ornithologist, naturalist, artist and poet. He published a number of books touching on Charleston's history as well as on the local flora and fauna, and, for almost fifty years, published numerous articles on topics as varied as birds, the American Civil War, and race relations.
- Almir Ribeiro was born on 9 December 1935 in São João da Boa Vista, São Paulo, Brazil. He was an actor, known for Absolutamente Certo (1957) and O Cantor e o Milionário (1958). He died on 18 February 1958 in Punta del Este, Uruguay.
- Per Stensgaard was born on 27 February 1911. He was an actor, known for The Heir to Skjoldborg (1914), Enken (1915) and Den sorte familie (1914). He died on 18 February 1958.
