Harmon Oscar Nelson Jr. was a musician best known for being the legendary inspiration for Bette Davis' claimed nicknaming of the Academy Award statuette "Oscar," although the story likely is apocryphal as his nickname was "Ham." Davis' high school sweetheart, Ham (or "Oscar") Harmon married Bette on August 18, 1932. They divorced seven years later.
He was one of four ex-husbands of Davis, all of whom were gentiles. Davis friend Joan Blondell, then married to Mike Todd, a Jew, nicknamed them "The Four Skins."- Sid Fields is featured, along with Danielle Aubry and Ben Blue, his co-star in the 1968 Jack Benny TV special Carnival Nights (1968), on the cover of Leo Guild's 1962 book on film star personalities, "Hollywood Screwballs", published by Holloway House. This cover photo was taken in Ben Blue's, the nightclub then located on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles.
- She started her long term acting career in 1904 as a young woman at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg. She was a member of stage companies in Hannover and Berlin, but she retired after her marriage in 1915. After her divorce she started again as a stage actress in the late 1930s in Berlin. In 1939, she made her film debut. In the 40's, she also worked as a teacher at the drama school of the Deutsches Theater in Berlin. In the post war period, she was member of a popular radio cabaret group in Berlin. When she was older, she gained more popularity. In the 1960s, when she was in her seventies, she became a famous character actress of West German cinema and television. She played mostly old ladies with charm and wit. She is best remembered as grandma in the TV-series 'Die Unverbesserlichen' (1966-71). She died aged 87 in Berlin. Her grave is named a grave of honor.

Ryszard Potocki was born in 1915 in Grodno, Poland, Russian Empire [now Hrodna, Belarus]. He was a production designer and actor, known for 5 i 1/2 Bladego Józka (1970), Night Train (1959) and Adventure in Marienstadt (1954). He died on 28 September 1975 in Lódz, Lódzkie, Poland.- Actress
Lillian Leavenworth aka Lillian Lorray was the youngest daughter of Lily Hoyting Leavenworth and Morse Leavenworth. Raised in New York, Lillian had a natural talent for dancing and singing and as a child was able to mimic other people's characters. She started going out for dance auditions and landed her first big show in New York in 1926. Her stage and screen credits over the next several years included: Schubert's "Artists & Models," 1926; "Merry World Review," 1927; Vaudeville duet nationwide tour with silent film star, Charles de Roche, doing the French Apache gangster dance, 1928; Vaudeville act, "Ferguson & Lorray," 1929; "Hold Everything," 1929; "Ripples," 1930; "Girl Crazy" (with Ginger Rodgers & Ethel Merman), 1930; "Tattletales," 1931; the Pulitzer prize-winning "Of Thee I Sing" (with William Gaxton, Victor Moore & Lois Moran), 1931 & 1933 (revival); the Fox movie "George White's Scandals" (with Rudy Vallee, Alice Faye & Robert Cummings), 1934; "Three Cheers for Love," Paramount film, 1934 (released in 1936); tour with Harpo Marx, 1935; tour with the Duncan sisters, 1936; "New Faces of 1936" (with Van Johnson), 1936-37; "Red, Hot & Blue" (Jimmy Durante, Bob Hope & Ethel Merman), 1938. For many years after that she was an exclusive clothes model for Bergdoff-Goodman in New York City. She was in a long-term relationship with Jack Potter, who was theatrical manager for British performers Gertrude Lawrence and Walter Pidgeon, handled appearances of MGM performers and traveled the country with Louis B. Mayer on company business, V.P of the Phillies and was instrumental in getting Yankee Stadium built.- Music Department

Johan Hye-Knudsen was born on 24 May 1896 in Nyborg, Denmark. He was an actor, known for Elverhøj (1958), Jomfruburet (1959) and Sankt Hansaften-spil (1972). He died on 28 September 1975.
